Sustaining Tenancies is a programme for tenants who are at risk of eviction and losing their rental property. Common reasons for this include falling behind in rent payments, causing damage or untidiness to the rental property, behaviour that the landlord thinks is disruptive, and overcrowding in a rental property. When faced with eviction, a tenant can enrol in Visionwest’s SUSTAINING TENANCIES programme and receive support from a Visionwest Support Navigator to advocate with the landlord with the aim of resolving the issues and saving the tenancy. During Visionwest’s last financial year, 184 households received support through the Sustaining Tenancies programme. 79 of these graduated from the programme with their tenancies intact, others are still in the programme and working towards graduation. If you or someone you know is at risk of eviction for any reason, phone 0800 664 464 and ask for more information about Sustaining Tenancies. We work in the West Auckland and Canterbury regions. As head of customer experience, I’m always interested in the HomeViews Build to Rent report. Using data from real renter reviews, it’s fantastic to see what tenants today are wanting from their homes, which this year included: 💷 Value for money. And the good news is that BtR residents feel like they’re getting better value for money than ever before 🏡 A sense of belonging. This was one of the biggest drivers of happiness for renters, which is something that we always strive to achieve within all of our @wiseliving BtR Single Family Housing (SFH) communities 🏢 Good level of management and facilities. Because of this, SFH residents rated their homes and lived experience higher than tenants in other new build housing developments 👍.... in fact, pure BtR and SFH residents enjoy a consistently higher lived experience than residents from the Rental Operator sub-category. There’s no doubt that SFH BtR can really deliver on filling the needs of so many renters today – especially when supported by partners like Wise Living, who put our tenant experience first.
