Mental Health is Physical Health💚

Our Founder and CEO, Jordan Corcoran, also runs a mental health organization called Listen, Lucy. Last week, she hosted her first ever FREE mental health conference, Camp Lucy, for over 200 students in Pittsburgh, PA. The event was extraordinary and WPXI-TV and WTAE Hearst Pittsburgh showed up to feature the event. What better way to honor #mentalhealthawarenessmonth than to shine light on the good being done to make our kids feel safe, accepted, and supported. While we love to shout a "clients from the press" from the rooftop, we also want to highlight the truth of what it is like to secure press for events. It is not easy. It is not predictable. It is not always something we are alerted to prior to the event. On the day of Camp Lucy, we were getting ready for the students to arrive and still weren't sure if anyone was going to show up. We pitched. We knew the story was a great one, but we weren't sure what was going to happen. Two TV stations told us that morning that they would be there – and one of the stories ended up getting picked up on Yahoo News! That's the nature of the beast. We understand how it works and we build events that can catch the media's eye and that highlight the authentic personality of the human being running the event. We use our contacts and relationships and do what we can to make sure the event gets the visibility it deserves – and still so many times it is a game time decision. This is even true for the Founder and CEO of a PR firm. PR is a long-game. Jordan always tells our clients it is about consistency over time. Patience and trusting the process are key – no matter how challenging that process can be at times. This day was amazing. We are so proud of the coverage and are already counting down the days to next year's conference.

Across our touchpoints with many caregivers, educators, leaders, practitioners and community members, we see people looking for more practical ways to make sense of wellbeing. The IMPACT Program introduces the PERMA model as a practical model of wellbeing and is readily understood and applied by children, families and adults. The model, developed by Martin Seligman, a pioneer in positive psychology, indicates that you will experience higher levels of wellbeing when you bring an intent to five key areas of you life. Which of these could you embrace this weekend? 🧩 Positive Emotions 🧩 Engagement 🧩 Relationships 🧩 Meaning 🧩 Accomplishment For a deeper understanding, we encourage you to read Dr Seligman's book Flourish.

👩 👴 👨 👱♀️ Networking is far from everyone’s cup of tea/coffee/wine but I jumped at the chance to speak at London’s friendliest networking event run by the wonderful Lucy Gower and Jennifer McCanna PCC (thank you both for being wonderful). 🧠💡 On a super cold evening, a whole heap of lovely humans turned up to hang out with strangers and listen to me talking about ADHD in the workplace and how we can be kind, curious and open to ways of working which bring out the best in everyone. 📒 We talked about everything from sending out clear meeting agendas in advance to worries about what to say when a colleague shares about their neurodivergent brain. ✨ The best thing for me (apart from randomly standing in a chair at one point) was hearing that people really do want to create safe, friendly workplaces where everyone can thrive. 🧠 Work doesn't work if it only creates ways to thrive for humans with neurotypical brains. We can all get to know our brains, our strengths and ways to tackle our challenges, whether we are neurodivergent or neurotypical. This means we neurodivergent humans don't have to ask for 'special treatment' - it helps level the proverbial playing field. 💜 Thanks to everyone who came along, shared, laughed and participated in all the activities! Another worthy shortlisted business for our ‘Heart of Gold’ award is For Men To Talk. For Men To Talk is a peer support group for men who are suffering with mental health illnesses, such as anxiety, depression, and grief, to talk in a safe and comfortable environment. Conversations include many factors in a man's life, including work, relationships, anxiety and many others. For Men To Talk offer physical, virtual, walking, and fishing meetings. These gatherings create a safe space where men can converse openly without judgment. As men come together in a supportive environment, they find a safe space to share their thoughts, feelings, and struggles. This open dialogue fosters a sense of camaraderie and understanding among participants, breaking down societal expectations that may hinder men from expressing vulnerability. What a powerful experience today's Anti-Procrastination Body Double Session was! 🥰 For 90 min, we gathered as a compassionate community of women focused on checking tasks off our lists... without beating ourselves up 💜 Too often, we approach productivity and goal-setting from a place of harsh self-criticism. 😫 We punish ourselves for falling behind, for needing breaks, for struggling to stay motivated. 💕 But today, we gently shifted that mindset. Human beings aren't robots 🤖 and we aren't made to be alone - we all need support sometimes. A little structure, some gentle accountability, and the comfort of community can work wonders for our motivation. During the session, we stated our goals with kindness, not "shoulds". When our minds wandered, we brought them back without judgment. We celebrated the small wins together 💪 And... We still got stuff DONE. ✅ Emails answered, rooms organized, meals planned. All while treating ourselves with compassion. It was a beautiful reminder that ✨we don't have to hustle and grind ourselves into the ground to be productive✨ Self-compassion and gentleness can be powerful drivers of action too. We're human beings wired for connection. It's more than okay to need people - it's essential for our wellbeing. 😌 Today proved that intentionally compassionate community can help us thrive. 💜 So let's keep showing up for ourselves and each other in this way. The world could use a lot more gentle productivity and whole lot less self-criticism. 👉Who's in for the next one?!
