Do what you've always done, get what you've always got. I love the meaning behind this phrase, but I must admit the grammar nitpick in me struggles with it! When I returned to London earlier this year, I was determined to mix things up and start getting out into new networks. I heard Penny Power OBE deliver a presentation at a Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) networking event in Bromley a few years ago, hosted by the one and only Chandra Sharma - Workwear and Stationery 👑. I was so impressed with her integrity, message, and authenticity. I thought immediately it must be quite something to know her properly. Over the intervening years, I have kept on the periphery of what she and her husband, Thomas, are doing and this year, Thomas got in touch at the right time and invited me to one of their BIP100 lunches. I still dithered, briefly, and then I took the plunge. So, tomorrow, I shall grab a swift coffee with Graham Stonadge, who is in town, briefly before I head over to the Mandeville Hotel for lunch and meet a new bunch of people. I'm looking forward to it - it feels exciting and new. Of course, I need to work out what the heck I wear on my feet so I don't end up with blisters (so much easier in winter cos the answer is always 'boots'!) I also need to do my best not to dip my hair in my food or drop one of my almighty clangers! Anyone else have the shoe/feet issue?
