October is Filipino Heritage Month, and our Asians@ Pinclusion Group is helping us celebrate with member spotlights. Meet Neil Phillip Enriquez, Pinterest Software Engineer.
"To celebrate FAHM, I will eat a whole lot of Filipino food, support locally owned Filipino businesses and attend the Lumpia Festival at Smorgasburg x Philippines Fest. Food and family are big parts of Filipino culture, and I'm excited to visit my family at the end of the month. I've been using Pinterest to find and teach myself recipes of my favorite Filipino dishes. Pinterest helps me embrace my Filipino roots by connecting me with what I consider the best part about Filipino culture: The FOOD!
Earlier this year, I travelled to the Philippines and went on a 12 hour road trip out of Manila to get my first ever tattoo by Apo Whang-Od, a 107 Year old Filipino tattoo artist who is famous for Batok (hand poked) tattoos. I enjoyed every moment being surrounded by Filipino culture, tradition, and history."
