Thank you for joining us to celebrate #Pride Month!
Happy almost-Pride Month! Here's why you should consider hiring LBTQIA+ creators (like moi) this June & year round! 🌈
Authenticity Matters: LGBTQIA+ creators bring genuine experiences and perspectives that resonate deeply with diverse audiences. Authenticity drives engagement and fosters stronger connections with your brand.
Inclusive Representation: Did you know 30% of Gen Z identifies as queer? Supporting LGBTQIA+ creators shows your commitment to diversity and inclusion. It signals to your audience that your brand values all voices and identities, not just during Pride Month, but every day.
Innovative Content: LGBTQIA+ influencers often bring fresh, creative ideas to the table. Their unique viewpoints can inspire innovative campaigns that stand out in a crowded market.
Brand Loyalty: Consumers are more loyal to brands that champion inclusivity and social justice. By consistently partnering with LGBTQIA+ creators, you build a reputation for being a brand that truly cares, fostering long-term loyalty.
This Pride Month, let's move beyond rainbow logos and limited-time campaigns. Commit to partnering with LGBTQIA+ creators throughout the year, and watch your brand grow in authenticity, creativity, and loyalty.
Feel free to reach out if you're interested in exploring how to integrate more inclusive practices into your marketing strategy. Together, we can create meaningful change. 🌟

When brands get real, their support shines even brighter.
Businesses can leave a lasting impact by taking the time to listen to what their audience really needs (and wants!) People respond positively to feeling genuinely appreciated, especially when they're used to being ignored by marketers.
This Pride Month let’s embrace inclusivity, not just for show, but because it actually matters.

🌈 Understanding the impact of our work on the LGBTQIA+ community
At ClickTech we keep each other accountable to make sure that we support our LGBTQIA+ team members and the wider LGBTQIA+ community, by fostering a culture based on openness, inclusion, diversity, and respect.
Our brands' mission is to make digital marketing accessible and successful for all businesses, regardless of size. So this Pride month, we wanted to do just that, by providing some support and guidance on how to advertise during Pride, with sensitivity, passion, and to avoid Pride-Washing.
We found an article written by our friends at Microsoft, explaining 3 tips for creating authentic LGBTQIA+ advertisements and brands that earn LGBTQIA+ consumers’ trust, brand love, and loyalty.

We could create a whole board of pins with all the reasons we love our returning Advocate Sponsor Pinterest.
Pinterest returns as a sponsor for the third year in a row of our annual SIS Summit; our partnership has been a major highlight of the company's ESG strategy, and they remain committed to intentionally expanding a diverse candidate pool and prioritizing diversity and inclusion in their hiring practices. Here are just a few "pinned" items about the company that we love:
Leadership in Representation: Pinterest’s ongoing efforts to increase representation across the company, particularly within leadership roles, demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity. At Pinterest, women make up 46% of leadership roles and 17% of their U.S. employees identify as Black, Indigenous, Latiné, or Pacific Islander, and they're working to increase that number to 20% and beyond.
Commitment to Community and Belonging: Pinterest’s approach to creating belonging extends beyond their workforce to the communities they serve. Their commitment to building an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive resonates with SIS’s mission to uplift and support women of color in sales.
Empowerment Through Innovation: Pinterest’s diverse teams drive creativity and innovation across the company. Their belief that #diversity is a key component of business growth aligns with SIS’s mission to empower women of color in sales to innovate and lead within their industries.
Pinclusion Groups: Pinterest’s Employee Resource Groups, known as Pinclusion Groups, provide a safe space for employees to discuss identity-based issues, build community, and foster belonging. These groups, such as Blackboard, Asians@, PIndigenous, Latin@, and Women@, specific #ERGs that foster community for women of color at Pinterest, supports our vision and mission of creating supportive networks for our communities.
With leaders like Doniel Sutton (she/her), Chief People Officer, and Nichole Barnes Marshall, Chief Diversity Officer, Pinterest is guided by a philosophy that places #inclusion and diversity at the core of their business. Their involvement in the SIS Summit highlights the importance of leadership in driving meaningful change, working alongside us to create a more inclusive and equitable future for women of color in sales. Plus, they're hiring! Visit their website to see their open positions and get ready to meet the team at Summit to share your qualifications.
Register for our upcoming 7th Annual SIS Summit to meet the Pinterest team and see their presenters on our main stage and in our workshops, as well as our other sponsors with hiring opportunities for women like you! Recently, I sparked some thought-provoking dialogue by suggesting a return to the strategies of the "golden age of advertising." 🚀
While some may have initially hesitated, assuming it meant reverting to reinforcing stereotypes and biases, let me clarify. 🎯
Last year at the UHLALA Group Unicorns in Tech queer professional summit, I delved into this very topic. 💼 🦄
The truth is, the golden age of advertising did indeed exploit the social systems of its time, which were far from inclusive. 🫠
It's because of its use of social systems and stunning imagery that advertising back then was incredibly effective 💥
The wildest thing? They didn't even have algorithms to lean on! Just focus groups, data, and anecdotes. 📊
But consider this: more identities than ever have emerged as a part of the growing complexity of social systems. 🌍
Now, imagine harnessing these insights to authentically represent the myriad intersectional identities of our world. 🌟
Folks, we're on the brink of a NEW golden age of advertising! 💥 Let's embrace it together.

"Diversity is being invited to the party; inclusion is being asked to dance." — Verna Myers
Have you ever stopped to consider if your brand messaging truly reflects the diverse world we live in? It's a vital question, especially for marketers aiming to connect authentically with their audiences.
Over the years, I’ve seen (and helped) many medium-sized businesses and nonprofits embrace the transformative power of inclusive brand messaging.
Ensuring your brand is inclusive is not just a trend; it's a necessity. When people see themselves reflected in your brand, it fosters a deeper sense of relatability and loyalty. Here’s why it’s crucial:
1. Authentic Connection
Representation matters. Whether it's through photos, videos, or illustrations, being purposeful in your selection of diverse media helps people from all walks of life feel seen and valued. This goes beyond race and ethnicity to include age, gender, abilities, and body types.
2. Inclusive Language
Language is powerful. Using inclusive language, which includes pronouns, shows respect for all identities. It signals that your brand acknowledges and values everyone’s experiences. For example, instead of "he or she", try using "they" when gender is unknown or irrelevant.
3. Broader Reach
Inclusive messaging broadens your audience. When your brand speaks to various communities, it opens up new opportunities for engagement and growth. People are more likely to support brands that reflect their values and experiences.
NOTE: Being inclusive is different from trying to reach everybody with your messaging, it’s simply an effort to acknowledge people in your audience who may not fit your ideal personas but are still valued supporters, customers or clients. This also means that you shouldn’t choose diversity for a few extra dollars because your audience can spot a fraud.
If you’re ready to ask your audience to dance (and mean it), send us a message so we can help you put your best foot forward.
Fire & Bliss Creative helps values-driven businesses and organizations develop communications and marketing strategies that attract the right clients and donors so you can sleep well tonight and continue to grow tomorrow. If you are interested in seeing if we’d be a good fit for helping solve your marketing or communications challenges, send me a message and we can set up a time to talk.
