Here's a fascinating turn of events. For all of you #BVFLS professionals out there with engagements involving retailers and shopping center owners, apparently the #brickandmortar apocolypse never happened. Many of us predicted the demise of shopping centers & malls as the #pandemic shifted consumers to online shopping. According to a recent survey from Cushman & Wakefield, we were wrong. While there was a small blip in vacancy rates during the pandemic, retail space is getting harder to find. I don't know if declining vacancy rates are due to shopping center/mall closures or increasing demand for space. But it is a surprise nonetheless.
