This year, Pittman & Brooks took our 36th annual company retreat on the road, trading the familiar for the breathtaking views of the Vancouver waterfront. Our theme, “Ohana,” meaning family, perfectly captured the connection and relaxation we wanted to highlight. Our P&B family even grew a little bigger as we welcomed two new team members, Ashley Schmidt and Brian Pape. What a fantastic way to kick off their journey with us! Adding to the celebration, our very own Randa Brooks was unable to attend, as she was busy welcoming a new addition to her family—her first grandchild. Our adventure began with a sunset happy hour, followed by a lively dinner at Dosalas. To top it all off, we returned to our rooms to find brand-new P&B sweat suits waiting for us—a perfect touch for a cozy and relaxing evening together. The next day, energized and ready to go, we launched our new website, streamlined key procedures, and unveiled our carefully curated new training program, “Unleash Your Impact,” in partnership with McArthur Executive Development. Another successful P&B retreat is in the books, filled with innovation, connection, and a whole lot of Ohana. A big thank you to everyone who planned and made this event so special. Here’s to another year of growth and family! Congratulations to the Brooks family on your newest addition! We are so excited to watch you grow, Ryder Ashton Knight. Making history as the first P&B grandchild, we hope you follow in Randa & Randall’s footsteps and become an accountant.

And so it begins! Tax Season 2024 is off to a great start after our annual Tax Kickoff Meeting at BRIX TAVERN, LLC. We spent the day strategizing, brushing up on our procedures, and enjoying fantastic food. We even added a few new P&B items to our tax season essentials kit and jumpstarted our annual wellness challenge to keep our minds and bodies healthy during our busiest time. Now, we are ready for another year of teamwork, hard work, and fun!

Today, we celebrate Nina Martin’s 29th year with Pittman & Brooks. From Office Manager to CPA and Managing Shareholder, Nina really has been an integral part of our firm since its early years. Each staff member was asked to describe Nina as a leader and person in one word, which was no easy feat since she has so many exceptional qualities to choose from.
