This is Divan Swanepoel. Played u/15 A for Hoërskool Linden at either 8 or 12 in 2024. He was mainly utilized for long range kicks. We have only had one session together and if we can tighten up quite a few of his flaws, he will become a very accurate kicker. He strikes the ball so purely, even with quite a few flaws. 1. His approach is a bow which causes him to square up too much, losing power in his kicks because his hips and core disengage. 2. There is no follow through in his kick, he stabs at the ball. 3. He doesn't get through his kick after he has struck the ball. 4. As Rugby Bricks refers to it, his Rodeo Arm doesn't work as it should. 5.He doesn't consistently stay tall in his kick. Even with this, he still strikes the ball so purely and effortlessly. Ill post more updates and comparisons as we do more sessions.
