It’s World Health Worker Week! Today we hear from Mariette, Community Health Worker: “As CHWs, we are really community educators. Being closest to the communities we serve and often the first ones informed of a sick patient, we must not hesitate to advise the community in order to gain their trust and respect as we guide them to care. We transmit key health information and guidance to the community to prevent the disease. I have been a CHW for 25 years, and I love this profession because I am able to put the knowledge I have toward the benefit of the family and the community; in return, the work increases my knowledge every day.” Pivot invests in #SafeSupportedHealthWorkers because we know that they are the key to achieving global health targets, ensuring health system resilience, and providing lifesaving services around the world. Follow along this #WHWWeek as we amplify the voices of those whose daily work is vital to the wellbeing of communities across Madagascar.

Health workers deliver vital services from frontline care to the farthest reaches of their communities. Supporting these valuable workers — while also helping countries reach their health care goals — requires extensive harmonized investment, knowledge and coordination. That’s why R4D has partnered with countries and organizations around the world on the Community Health Roadmap, a collaborative platform of donors, private funders and global health leaders. This effort is mobilizing increased and coordinated investments in community health to help countries achieve their #primaryhealthcare and #universalhealthcare goals. So far, 16 countries have created roadmaps outlining their community health investment priorities. 🗺️ Discover how the roadmap and R4D are building stronger systems for health workers and helping countries achieve their #universalhealthcare and #primaryhealthcare objectives.

🌊 Advancing Health Equity in Hawai‘i 🌊 We believe in the power of community-driven solutions to address health disparities. That’s one reason we’re excited to announce an additional $5 million in grant funding for Hawai‘i’s Community Health Centers, following our $15 million initiative launched last year. This funding underscores our dedication to trust-based partnerships that shift power to communities so that they can address their unique health challenges. As Dr. Sulma Gandhi, CPCC, ACC, our Hawai‘i Health Lead, stated, “Our deepened partnership reflects a commitment to working together in a significant and meaningful way.” We believe that shared decision-making and respect for local expertise are essential to driving meaningful change and that together, we can build a healthier future for our communities. https://lnkd.in/gqcwgVjS #HealthEquity #CommunityPartnerships #TrustBasedPhilanthropy #BecauseChangeCantWait

At the David Development Foundation, we understand that a healthy community is a thriving community. That's why we're deeply committed to developing impactful health projects that address the specific needs of communities struggling with access to healthcare and wellness resources. Our focus goes beyond addressing immediate needs. We aim to create a lasting impact by: Identifying Gaps: We actively work with communities to understand their unique health challenges. This allows us to tailor our projects to address their most pressing needs. Promoting Preventative Care: We believe prevention is key. Our projects often include educational initiatives on healthy habits, hygiene, and disease prevention. Empowering Communities: We don't just deliver solutions, we build capacity. We work with local partners and train community health workers to ensure long-term sustainability of our projects. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthy life. By investing in these health projects, we're building a brighter future for generations to come. #communityhealth #DavidDevelopmentFoundation #buildingabetterfuture

Good health only happens if there are good working conditions. For maximum lives saved, CHWs must be salaried, skilled, supervised, and supplied. In most places, they’re not. At Community Health Impact Coalition we’re collaborating to change that and reach #healthforall. Find out how: https://lnkd.in/e3CbkKFu
