On Memorial Day we honor those who were lost defending our country and our freedoms. They persisted and fought for a reason. At the same time, we are reminded in his work to “persist in doing good without growing weary. In due time, we will harvest blessings if we don't lose heart." - Galatians 6:9 (NLT) In life, it's easy to let daily circumstances dictate my peace, my trust, and my hope. The pressures and uncertainties make me feel anxious. However, there's another path I try to choose daily and that is to place my trust in God, remembering that He is never rushed and never late. What about those moments when it feels like God is running behind schedule? These are the times when He's shaping and preparing me. Similar, to the story of Lazarus and Jesus' apparent delay, He didn’t just heal Lazarus, he resurrected him. Jesus’ timing was not about meeting immediate expectations but about revealing a greater glory. In our own lives, God's timing is precise, with a deliberate plan. It may be difficult for me to understand why certain things are taking longer than expected, but I have to trust that there is a divine reason behind every delay. When I feel disheartened or impatient, I try and focus on the promise of Galatians 6:9 – “Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due time, we will reap the rewards if we do not give up. Keep the faith, keep praying, keep serving, and continue sowing seeds of goodness. Our persistent efforts and unwavering trust in God are not in vain.” Every prayer, every act of kindness, every moment of faithfulness is like planting a seed. Although it may take time to see the fruits of my labor, I know that a great harvest is coming. Let's hold on to hope, and let our faith be stronger than our fear. As we remember those who have served and sacrificed on this Memorial Day, let's also encourage one another to trust in God's perfect timing, for He is always at work, weaving together every detail for our ultimate good and His greater glory.
