Let's talk about #champagne glass – flute! ⚫ The champagne #flute (French: flûte à champagne) is a stem glass with either a tall tapered conical shape or elongated slender bowl. ⚫ The #rim - This is the point where the wine makes contact with the drinker’s mouth. ⚫ The #chimney - Some glasses have a tapered, narrow section just before the rim. ⚫ The #bowl - This is the most important part of the glass, where the wine settles. ⚫ The #epicure - Some glasses have an epicure, which is an indentation at the base of the bowl to show the true color of the wine to elevate your wine experience to the fullest. ⚫ The #stem - Gives the glass height as well as provides something to hold. ⚫ The #base - Also known as the foot, is perfectly flat giving the glass stability.

"It tastes better than it looks" The picture on the left was taken from the Instagram page of one of my favorite local pizza spots. The pizza is phenomenal. The service is fantastic. Their photos are terrible... This photo has a few issues. The perspective is weird and confusing. I get the idea of taking "creative" photos from a unique perspective, but not when it comes to food. You want customers to be able to imagine that pizza sitting right in front of them ready to eat. The close up shot is also not flattering for this pizza. Really close up shots tend to have a very shallow depth of field which leaves most of the pizza out of focus. I have some issues with the lighting as well. I can see that the person who took the picture was standing in between the pizza and whatever light source was in the kitchen. You can see the pizza gets brighter from left to right which means the light was likely behind them. The tungsten (yellow) light also makes the pizza look unappetizing. Some quick fixes would be: - Take the photo from the perspective of someone who is about the grab a slice - Place the pizza next to a window to get even natural lighting - Zoom out and tell the full story - Add some engagement with the pizza, a little cheese pull goes a long way #FoodPhotography #FoodStyling #FoodArt #FoodiePhotography #FoodPorn #FoodPic #CookbookAuthor

Champagne: In the process of manufacturing Champagne, riddling racks are a must have. Once the sparkling wine has began to age, it will be time for the concluding stages. Riddling is essential to the life of Champagne as it collects the sediment in bottles and deposits it near the bottle’s mouth. This sediment is what helps to bring the bubbles bursting out when you pop the cork. Champagne bottles are put on riddling racks at a 45 degree angle, comprising the two rectangular boards that have been hinged at the top of the rack. On each side of the rack, there are ten rows that contain six holes for the necks of the bottles. Due to their structure and shape, each riddling rack is capable of holding 120 bottles, although there are special models that are made to hold more. The riddler, who places the bottles, will place a bottle neck into each one of the holes on the riddling racks. There are painted lines at the bottom of each bottle, which acts as a marker for placing the bottles.
