Promoting SIP vs ROAR - Stabilize-In-Place vs Rip-Out-And-Replace for Sustainable Maintenance of the Built Environment

Took this photo yesterday at the APTNE Symposium in Amherst. Sound concept, proven over and over again to stagnate conceptual and technology intellectual transfer, progress and in many cases cause replacement not restoration at significantly increased cost and "insult" to the existing structure. Like to follow it up with - "A Good Idea is Always a Good Idea" - https://lnkd.in/dhEAE7qh - That being said, after viewing the YouTube video, my questions to APTI would be; - How long does a Means, Methods or Material need to exist before it is considered? - Is European experience considered or only US? - If a Means, Method or Material is exclusive, does that eliminate it from consideration? Above is based on the following; 1. Nobody wants to be first (but) 2. Absolutely Nobody wants to be last! 3. Everyone wants to be in the comfortable middle.

think 'it has stood the test of time' probably scares me more, as it can also be taken as 'it hasn't fallen down (yet)'

As far as I can tell Pat you are doing a sterling job at being ‘first’ when promoting non metallic fibresss rebar, which is such an obviously fantastic solution to so many problems. It’s a tough spot to be in without a doubt, but if anyone can do it you can!😎
