Naked but Why? 🙄 📍 Coca-Cola began a label-less packaging trial in the UK for its Sprite and Sprite Zero 500ml rPET bottles. The trial aims to reduce waste and improve recyclability while maintaining product integrity. 📍 The label-less packaging replaces traditional labels with an embossed logo on the front of the pack. The back of the pack will feature laser-engraved product and nutritional information. The barcode is located on the cap. 📍 The label-less bottles simplify the recycling process by eliminating the need to separate labels from the bottles during the recycling process. During the recycling process, labels are separated from the PET flakes using the float-and-sink method and are usually discarded. ____________________________________________________________________________________ See more at: https://lnkd.in/ggb8vEWi Shoot your comments and do share! 😀 #sprite #cocacola #beverages #packaging #foodindustry #foodandbeverageindustry #research #innovation #UK #india

𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 • A recent comprehensive European study shows how sensitive consumers still react to the issue concerning the migration of substances into food. • This risk with labels can be minimised easily and cost-effectively with the HERMA standard adhesive 62Dps due to its extremely low migration tendency. • This adhesive demonstrates its strengths particularly on packaging films, even in cool/moist conditions and in high-speed labelling, such as blow-on processes. #HERMA #selfadhesive #material #lowmigration #packaging #films

In case you missed it, the FDA recently launched a new web page about microplastics and nanoplastics in food. News coverage and social media warnings have caused a stir for consumers and food businesses alike, raising doubts about the safety of everything from chicken nuggets to beer. The FDA evaluates the safety of microplastics and any potential migration to food through food contact material evaluations including packaging materials, equipment, and food preparation surfaces. Similar to how food additives are evaluated, the FDA reviews toxicological and migration data through a pre-market safety and scientific review process. Understanding the pre-market notification and post-market surveillance processes can help your brand feel confident in its packaging choices and in what to ask of your packaging suppliers when it comes to assuring safe, quality materials. What questions do you have about food packaging and food contact material safety? Let us know in the comments below. #microplastics #fda #foodsafety

Once widely used in a variety of plastic products, many of these same products on shelves now proudly wear a “BPA FREE” sticker. While consumers have come to recognize and look for products with this badge of honor, many aren’t fully aware of what Bisphenol A (BPA) is or why BPA-free options are so highly coveted. In this blog we discuss what BPA-free means, the benefits of BPA-free products, Dymapak’s BPA-free mylar bags, and more.
