As Memorial Day comes around, it's good to remember what the day is really about. It’s not just the start of summer or a time for big sales. This is a day to honor the brave men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military. Their sacrifices are why we get to enjoy so many freedoms every day. So, how can we keep the spirit of Memorial Day alive in our everyday lives? It can be as simple as taking a quiet moment to think about those who gave their lives, doing something to help someone in need, or just saying thanks to someone who’s served. These little things mean a lot and help us keep their memories alive. Memorial Day also encourages us to be like those we're remembering—selfless and brave. We can do that by helping out in our community, standing up for what's right or making a move for our future that we were afraid to do. By living out these values, we honor their legacy and make a positive difference just like they did. Have a meaningful and memorable Memorial Day! #MemorialDay2024 #HonorAndRemember #CourageAndResilience #CommunityStrength #NeverForget #TheWorldChangers #ChangeYourFinancesChangeYourWorld #YouChangeTheWorldChanges

Honoring Our Heroes: A Social Story for Memorial Day What is Memorial Day? It's a special day in the United States (on the last Monday of May) to remember all the brave men and women who served in the military. These are people who wear uniforms and protect our country. Why do we remember them? ️ Some of these heroes fought in battles to keep us safe, and some might not be here anymore because they died protecting our freedom. How do we celebrate? We visit cemeteries (special places where people are buried) to place flowers on their graves. We might see parades with flags and people in uniforms. (Flags represent America!) What can you do? Help hang a flag! Draw pictures to thank veterans! Spreading Awareness: As we approach Memorial Day, consider sharing resources about veterans' services or organizations supporting military families with your network. #MemorialDay #SocialStory #AutismAwareness #ThankYouVeterans #RememberingHeroes

🇺🇸 9/11 We Will Never Forget... 🇺🇸 I recall September 11th, 2001 as I watched the events unfold on one of those morning news shows in disbelief. I remember thinking, "People should move; that building is going to fall," just moments before it tragically did. I remember viewing the New York City broadcasts of people covered in dust and feeling helpless. I tried calling my family in New York, only to get a busy signal. Reflecting on those moments is a humbling, one that helps me connect with others on a deeply personal level, both in my personal and professional life. It reminds me that life, as Langston Hughes beautifully wrote it, "ain't be no crystal stair" for anyone. We all face challenges, some more daunting than others, but it's in these moments of adversity that we find the strength to rise. In every tragedy, there is an opportunity to overcome, to rebuild, and to become better than before. The resilience of the human spirit shines through, as we rebuild not only our lives but also our communities. The events of 9/11 serve as a stark reminder that in the face of adversity, we can unite and grow stronger together. Today, as we remember 9/11, I am committed to building stronger communities. In my journey, I strive to be present, to listen, and to guide others who seek real estate and veteran entrepreneurial services. It's through these actions that we can honor the memory of those we lost on that day and continue to build a better tomorrow for all. 🇺🇸 #NeverForget #September11 #StrongerTogether #CommunityBuilding
🕊️ United in Remembrance 🕊️ Today, we remember all the lives lost on September 11, 2001. As members of Atlanta Black Chambers ABC Veteran Entrepreneurs Group, we pay tribute to the courageous first responders, military personnel, and civilians who showed extraordinary bravery and selfless actions in saving the lives of those who were victims of foreign terrorizing acts toward our nation. As we remain a strong unified nation, let us reaffirm our commitment to freedom, resilience, and hope through our careers and businesses. Take a moment to reflect and share with us your memory of the day and how you will honor the courage of those who gave their lives on this day. #PatriotDay #NeverForget #UnitedWeStand #UnitedWeRemember #TributeToHeroes #HonoringHeroes

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗧𝗶𝗽: 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 "𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆" Every year, I see a common communication mistake that makes me cringe: people and businesses saying "Happy Memorial Day" or promoting "Happy Memorial Day sales." Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States dedicated to honoring and mourning U.S. military personnel who died in service to our country. For those remembering and mourning fallen heroes, "Happy Memorial Day" can feel out of place and insensitive. Instead, consider using more appropriate phrases such as: "Wishing you a meaningful Memorial Day" "Honoring our fallen heroes this Memorial Day" "Remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice" By choosing your words carefully, you show respect and understanding for the true significance of this solemn day. 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 If you're promoting a sale, focus on the event without using the phrase "Happy Memorial Day." Here are some examples: "Memorial Day Weekend Sale: Honoring Our Heroes with Special Discounts" "Memorial Day Sale: Great Deals This Weekend" "Commemorate Memorial Day with Our Exclusive Offers" This approach allows you to acknowledge the significance of the holiday while promoting your sale respectfully. Let's honor their memory appropriately. #CommunicationTips #MemorialDay #Respect #HonoringOurHeroes #MarketingTips #smithmarketinggroup

Today is Memorial Day, where we remember and honor our fallen soldiers. Do you know about the long history of Native Americans serving in the military? Take a look at the article "Reflections on Native Americans and Memorial Day" from Native News Online, written by by Levi Rickert: https://rb.gy/5n6a98 "Throughout American history, American Indians and Alaska Natives have proudly served and died for the United States of America. According to the Oxford Companion to American Military History, American Indians and Alaska Natives have the highest record of military service per capita compared to any other racial/ethnic group in the United States. Remarkably, even before American Indians became citizens of the United States in 1924, during World War I (July 28, 1914 – November 11, 1918), some 12,500 American Indians served in the armed forces. They fought for freedom when they weren’t even citizens of this country. Almost two-thirds of American Indians who served did so in the infantry, where they won widespread praise for bravery and achievement. Almost 5% of American Indian combat soldiers lost their lives, compared to 1% of American forces overall."
