Discover how this festival of lights can bring a radiant glow to your mental well-being. ✨ This Diwali, let the fireworks ignite your inner joy! 🙏🏻 As a psychologist, I have witnessed firsthand how this festival can have a positive impact on mental health. The practice of cleaning and decluttering our homes before Diwali represents more than just physical cleansing; it symbolizes the removal of mental clutter, allowing for a fresh start and a clearer mind. Moreover, the act of lighting diyas signifies dispelling darkness, which can be interpreted as overcoming negativity and embracing optimism. Through sharing heartfelt moments with loved ones, practicing gratitude, and engaging in the joyous festivities, Diwali acts as a catalyst for fostering emotional resilience and strengthening social connections. Let's bask in the radiance of this festival, nurturing our mental well-being and spreading warmth and positivity around us. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalillness #counselling #psychotherapy #therapy #selfcare #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthsupport #mentalhealthrecovery #mentalhealthwarrior #mentalhealthmonth #anxiety #depression #stress #trauma #ptsd #bipolar #eatingdisorders #suicideprevention #selfhelp #mentalhealthstigma #mentalhealthprofessional #India #mentalhealthjourney #Anxiety #HappyDussehra #Dussehra2023 #mentalhealthmatters #Trending https://lnkd.in/dsZyNbVR

🧡🤍💙 February 17, 2006. It was a few days after Valentine’s day. I was going fast. Both literally and in my mind. I had moved back to the U.S. alone just a few years before. And had recently moved to San Diego to go to college. I hand’t slept in over 72 hours. I was driving recklessly. I had spent all the money I had. I hit rock bottom. I called my mom in Iran. She flew to the States. I knew something was wrong but didn’t know what. I was 20 years old. And so, I agreed to go to the hospital. After evaluating me, the doctor wrote: “you are suffering from mania’s.” They said I was only going to be hospitalized for three days. But it ended being a week. From then began a long journey that continues to today. By all accounts, I should have not been able to accomplish a lot of the things I have. Everyday is a battle. But everyday I’m here, gives me an opportunity to continue to fight for myself and others. If you’re going through a tough time, keep pushing. As hard as it is, we come out stronger. Share this with anyone else that needs to hear it. 🧡🤍💙 . . . . . #anxiety #bipolar #bipolar1 #bipolar2 #bipolardisorder #bipolarlife #bipolarmania #bipolarsupport #borderlinepersonalitydisorder #depression #healing #love #loveandlight #manic #mentalhealth #mentalhealthadvocate #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthblogger #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthrecovery #mentalhealthsupport #mentalhealthwarrior #mentalillness #mentalillnessawareness #mentalwellness #motivation #psychosis #recovery #suicide #therapy

Hi my LinkedIn folks👋🏽 Last night, a stone fell on my head as I was fastening the locks on a door before bed. Earlier that day, some men had done some work on the door and left the stone to hold up the cement. Boy, did I feel excruciating pain! Fortunately, there was no cut. I held my head, rubbed and massaged the affected area, and yet the pain would not go away. I only felt my head pounding and pounding. But that isn’t the point of this post. Then it dawned on me again that June is men's #mentalhealth month. I asked myself, "If this is the pain I have to deal with because of a small lemon-sized stone, what are the struggles I and other men are battling mentally?" Society has established strict gender norms to which every individual is expected to conform. For the man, he is supposed to; be strong always, be a pillar and provide support, not shed tears (crying is a sign of weakness), learn to endure and suffer silently (take it as a man). Yes, that is what we have learned, but men are emotional beings too. To avoid facing ridicule, many men keep these problems to themselves, which results in unspoken mental battles. Men face problems (much of which they do not talk about), cry, yearn for comfort and support, etc. While it may seem like #mentalhealth is an individual affair, it is a collective action in which various agents and agencies - the family, religion, community, and social media - must actively prioritize. It is high time we recognized this and challenged these outmoded gender norms. We should learn to encourage and support men and accept and embrace diversity in men. We should be ready to offer a listening ear to their needs and proffer the best solutions we can. It is a winding and muddy road but taking it a day at a time, we can foster a society where every man is celebrated for his individuality. #MensMentalHealth #BreakTheStigma #EmbracingMasculinity #SelfCare #NormalizingMentalHealth #MentalHealthMatters #MindMatters #ItsOkayToNotBeOkay #ChallengingGenderNorms #AskHowHeIsDoing #MentalFreedom

Confession #18 : I'm a 33-year-old husband married for 5 years, deeply in love with my wife, who I find incredibly beautiful. However, since the birth of our child two years into our marriage, she has gained over 20kg, now weighing over 85kg. Despite my concerns for her health and our relationship, attempts to discuss her weight have led to arguments, and she dismisses my worries, even suggesting her father could provide funds for food. Expressing my diminished attraction due to her weight hasn't spurred change, leaving me feeling distant and increasingly drawn to other women. Despite my encouragement, she refuses physical activity and dieting, claiming an inability to live without food, leaving me feeling drained and uncertain about our future. Response from our Counsellor : It's evident that you care deeply for your wife and are genuinely concerned about her well-being and the state of your relationship. The weight gain she has experienced since childbirth appears to have become a source of tension and frustration between you, leading to difficulties in communication and emotional distance. It's important to approach this delicate issue with empathy and understanding, recognizing that weight gain after childbirth can be a complex and sensitive topic for many women, often intertwined with physical, emotional, and hormonal changes. In order to address this situation constructively, it may be beneficial for both of you to seek support from a professional therapist or counselor who can facilitate open and respectful dialogue about your concerns and feelings. This can provide a safe space for your wife to express her own struggles and insecurities regarding her weight, and for you to explore ways to support her in making healthier lifestyle choices without further straining your relationship. Additionally, focusing on building emotional intimacy and strengthening your connection as a couple, beyond physical attraction, can help foster a sense of mutual understanding and acceptance as you navigate this challenging journey together. #MentalHealth #Wellness #SupportPlatform #MentalWellness #SelfCare #Therapy #Counseling #CommunitySupport #MentalHealthSupport #EmotionalWellBeing #Mindfulness #SelfHelp #HealthyMind #PositiveMindset #WellBeingJourney #SupportiveCommunity #MHSLife #MentalHealthAwareness Fly Fare Technologies MHS Life MHS Life
