In Central Uganda’s Kassanda District, the Kitumbi-Kayonza Mine Site is home to a cooperative of 30 women artisanal miners who collectively pool 5 points of gold each week. The women formed the cooperative to save and sell their gold together, realizing that selling as a group not only earns them higher profits but also helps their businesses thrive. Led by Judith, the cooperative has grown to 30 members.
