Located in Karimata Islands, our initiative focuses on the routine monitoring of marine turtles, which began in December 2023. Our team is dedicated to gathering data, understanding their behaviors, and implementing conservation strategies to ensure these turtles thrive for generations. As we continue celebrating International Biological Day, we also acknowledge World Turtle Day by highlighting our Karimata Turtles project. Biodiversity is the backbone of our planet's health, and every species, no matter how small, plays a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance. Marine turtles, for example, help maintain healthy seagrass beds and coral reefs, benefiting countless other marine species. These majestic creatures are vital to marine ecosystems, and our ongoing commitment to their protection marks a significant step in our efforts to conserve marine biodiversity. At Planet Indonesia, we believe in a holistic approach to conservation—one that is led by local communities, leverages traditional knowledge, and promotes sustainable practices.
