Today is Women’s Equality Day—the day in 1920 when the right for women to vote was finally enacted into federal law. As we commemorate this day, it is essential to reflect on the hard-fought battle for women’s suffrage and to recognize how that legacy continues to inspire and shape our fight for equality today. #WomensEqualityDay #RightToVote #19thAmendment #VotingRights #PlannedParenthood #NineteenthAmendment #Suffrage

The time is now. The future is female. Our current political situation in our own country is fueling much more than inequality between genders. The lack of responsibility as a unified nation to act with accountably, and punish the guilty (especially those who were chosen as our universal voice of liberty and justice move us all closer to the edge of no return in respect). Each day we allow those in high governmental and religious positions who believe they speak as the 'one true voice of our nation because they are at the top rung (of their own minds), of being the superiority leaders in history when their very decisions are proving they are not fit to serve. However, they are speaking out about religion and political policy issues with misinformation in order to cover their own errors of judging their peers. All leaders, no matter where they serve, need to take a refresher course in their own job description, which is why, there should be term limits on every govermnent job, and accountability minimums for every elected or appointed leader going forward.
On Women's Equality Day, we're reminded that the fight for true equality continues. This is why AAUW supports publication of the Equal Rights Amendment. Join us in urging Congress to affirm the ERA. Your voice matters in this crucial step towards constitutional equality. Take action now: Send a letter to your member of Congress: https://lnkd.in/gddFRZ_7 #EqualRightsAmendment #WomensEqualityDay

The sluggish response of political parties towards fielding more women candidates, despite the landmark passage of the 33% reservation, underscores the entrenched #GenderBiases within the political landscape. It's up to us, the voters, to demand #Representation and #Inclusivity. Choose wisely; it's about more than just policies. #DemandChange #VoteForEquality. #CSR_India #GenderEquality #WomenInPolitics #RepresentationMatters

The journey towards women's suffrage was arduous, with years of resistance from cultural norms, lawmakers, and even some women. Despite the deeply ingrained societal attitudes and legal barriers, the women's suffrage movement persisted, using protests, lobbying, and legal challenges to gain momentum. It is important to acknowledge that the fight for suffrage was not a monolithic movement. The 15th Amendment granted African-Americans the right to vote decades earlier, highlighting the intersectionality of the struggle for civil rights. The ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920 marked a significant milestone in the fight for women's rights, granting women the legal right to vote and participate in the democratic process. As we celebrate Women's Suffrage Day, let us take a moment to honor the efforts of those who fought tirelessly for this fundamental right. #WomensSuffrage #EqualRights #Democracy

Proud to have attended the Senate Functional Committee meeting on Human Rights on 29 Jul! We had a crucial discussion on a range of issues affecting children, women, and minorities and the role of HR/CR commission and HR department. It's heartening to see policymakers and stakeholders come together to address these pressing concerns. Let's continue to work towards a more inclusive and equitable society for all. #HumanRights #SenateCommittee #ChildrensRights #WomensRights #MinoritiesMatter"
