It's very important for us to reach out to our younger population and encourage them to use protection and to get screened regularly. A sizable portion of this uptick of STDs comes from congential syphilis. This is very detrimental to the health of newborns. Newborns can develop conditions such as meningitis and poor bone development as a result. I can't get enough people to help me do something....I have been talking to everyone and anyone who will listen about congenital syphilis and that we really need to do something about this....we had 219 cases of congenital syphilis in 2022 which is 281 cases/100,000 live births....have not seen such numbers in over 2 decades of my life being in global health!
