Remember EPIC is what we are looking for. Empathy: Relatability of the concept. Persuasion: RTB and emotional plus functional benefits. Impact: The big idea. Communication: Recall and brand awareness. Now score your communication on these and then see how your ad scored. Average EPIC of good communication is around 3.7. Let’s rate the ad below: Empathy: 4 (Mother with kids playing school school. Although a boy acting as a teacher is not common but we give it that creative liberty). Persuasion: 2 (Nothing was said to justify why the product is real). Impact: 2 (There is no big idea). Communication: 2 (There is no surprise or music or a known face to make the consumer remember it. Which emotion are we trying to invoke? Is it fear or happiness or sadness or anxiety or euphoria?)
