Good News Friday! 🔹 In Washington DC, the White House takes action to reduce single-use plastics in federal operations including a new goal to phase out federal procurement of single-use plastics from food service operations, events and packaging by 2027. 🔹 In Ireland, IBM is switching to reusable 2GoCup cups and will be saving an estimated 235,000 cups from landfill each year. 🔹 In Australia, R & R Smith Apples are packing their organic apples in cardboard punnets. 🔹 In Washington, the Anacostia Riverkeeper team headed to Pope Branch Park for their annual Plastic Free July cleanup and collected 2,878 lbs of trash! #PlasticFreeJuly #ChooseToRefuse #PFJ #PlasticFreeJuly2024
