Additionality is a hot topic in the GHG reduction conversation. Within Scope 3 reduction programs, there is a disconnect between on-farm practices and #inventoryaccounting. This causes uncertainty for buyers, suppliers and farmers and affects project design, impact quantification, and #GHGinvestments. In 2021, 1.6 million acres of #grasslands (an area larger than Delaware) were destroyed across the US and Canadian Great Plains, contributing to a total of nearly 32 million acres plowed across the region since 2012 (Plowprint, 2023). The Great Plains are managed by private landowners, Native Nations, and Federal entities, each presenting unique challenges and opportunities to addressing the issue of land conversion. Roughages are plant-based feedstuffs. Technically, forage and herbage are defined as plant materials available for consumption by an animal. Technically, roughage refers to a feedstuff with a higher fiber content forages. Practically speaking, the terms are used interchangeably. #GeneralAgriculture

I think about this every day. I don't know how any human can fail to think about this every day; can fail to oppose this violent and immoral oppression; and most of all, how they can fail to make a pledge never to support it or participate in it. Actually, I do know "how" - the well-worn mechanics of oppression, of othering, of categorising beings that are and are not worthy of moral consideration (speciesism), and all the denial and savagely contradictory thinking that flows from these. The milk process also known as the methods of milking requires several important steps, and the purpose of these steps is to elicit optimal milk letdown, minimize the chances of a cow contacting mastitis organisms during milking, and efficient milk removal. Milking animals refers to the process of extracting milk from dairy animals, such as cows, goats, sheep, and buffaloes. #GeneralAgriculture
