I was just checking out the US basketball roster for Paris. This roster is as loaded as I can remember. While I'm intrigued to see who cracks the closing rotation, their path to gold seems almost tooo guaranteed to build any real drama. That’s why this year's 3x3 basketball event has my attention – an event the US didn’t even qualify for in 2020. The playground-style format, with games played to 21, is (in my opinion) a truer version of basketball, solving for end of game free throw and time out issues. We've seen this work with the TBT & NBA ASG. The game is growing too. Since its inception by FIBA in 2007, 3x3 basketball has expanded rapidly with over 180 participating federations. In 2023, FIBA 3x3 saw a 107% increase in digital views. And this year, the US has some star power. Jimmer Fredette is back in our lives, leading the US team.
