One of the many things of I love about indie game dev, and there are many, is the intimacy and power of small teams to do big things. Indie game devs may not have the big bucks like the studios, but they've got something even better: freedom. With small teams, everyone pitches in, wearing different hats and bringing their skills to the table. This closeness breeds creativity, letting them try wild ideas and take risks in game design. And you know what? It works. That tight-knit vibe not only sparks innovation but also leads to games that hit players right in the feels, making indie titles stand out in a big way. #indiegamedev #highperformanceteam #games #leadership

Indies, an important note. BIGGER isnt always BETTER. dont get overwhelmed thinking "oh this game needs to be open world, massive, and have top notch graphics" that isnt what every player wants. some people (i myself) would like to play a game that may take like 8hrs to complete. the cost is usually cheaper, but the story is a lot more original usually, and the content is more meaningful. I just got done playing MageSeeker, from RiotForge. That game was fun till the last scene. And i felt like i was making progress and just wanted to hear more of the awesome lore Runterra had to offer. Take it as a game like Skyrim... it was fun dont get me wrong, made by a AAA company... but it was so grindy, with meaningless content grind. I really remember just the guild stories, but they were just the same back and forth... where as shorter games, you constantly get to learn and enjoy new things. bigger open world games with realism are fine, and a lot of people like it. but youll be suprised how much a smaller game, at a smaller price, will do. and for the devs, they have a lot more time putting meaningful content and they arent stressed out by size vs deadline

🎮 so you want to make games? So you want to make games? Buckle up, because you’re in for a wild ride! 🎢 First, forget everything you know about sleep—because coding bugs at 3 AM is basically a rite of passage. 🕒 And those dreams of being the next big thing? Get ready to spend hours tweaking that one tiny pixel just so it looks perfect. But here’s the real secret: despite the late nights, the chai ☕️ addiction, and endless debugging, nothing beats the feeling when someone plays your game and has a blast. 😎 So, if you’re ready to turn your ideas into playable art and possibly lose your mind in the process, welcome to the club! 🎉 Game on, future devs! 🚀🎮 #gamedev #gamedesign

Do we create or compete? To the emerging indie developers (and especially the larger companies); Please consider that you do not have to compete about players or of their disposable income. There is plenty enough for everyone. What we should do, is give the players MORE in value —as in experience, feeling, emotion, stories, in-game goodies, etc— than what they spend in money for our games. "Every person who becomes rich by competition kicks down the ladder by which he or she rises and keeps others down. But, the person who gets rich by creation opens away for thousands to follow and inspires them to do so." Wallace D. Our studio, Level Headed Games, is a decidedly Triple I developer -- a growing cohort of studios with highly experienced AAA leadership working on projects with more modest scopes, budgets and team sizes. III is indie agility with veteran expertise and big ambitions to shake up the industry. I'm thrilled to be focusing my career in this space right now. But the games industry doesn't seem to have woken up to our presence yet. From publishing to platforms to middleware and beyond, I've repeatedly encountered pricing structures and product offerings that want us to be either a passion project or a large scale production. As an example, just last week I was researching a tool that offered a no-limits license for $250 if our budget was under $250K (inclusive of both dev and publishing costs...an incredibly low sum), OR if our budget was $251K+, it was a minimum of $13,000, and that came with various restrictions. I think there is a huge opportunity for games industry B2B companies to rethink their customer profiles. I gladly pay for great tools and services if I feel that what I'm being charged is commensurate with our team's needs, rather than feeling lumped in with AAA devs and all the bells and whistles they may avail themselves of. I'm curious if other III devs have encountered the same thing. And if you are one of those games industry service providers, is this a discussion that is happening within your company? I strongly suggest it should be. #TripleI #III #gamedev

🌟 It's hard to make a successful game, especially for many small and medium-sized indie developers, who have relatively limited resources and budgets compared to the big game developers. However, among these 'struggle to survive' game creators, there are indie developers who continue to grow against the tide. Indie developer Top Games' Evony: The King’s Return (Evony TKR) has achieved impressive results, generating more than 2 million downloads and reaching $355 million in revenue by 2023, making it one of the most successful indie developers. Will uCool have the opportunity to develop a successful project like Evony TKR? Let's further explore the features of the uCool team. 🚀 Why Evony is Successful The combination of diverse gameplay, historical depth, strategic complexity, and strong community features makes Evony: The King’s Return a standout in the mobile gaming market. Its ability to continuously evolve and innovate, while maintaining a user-centric approach, has cemented its place as a leading strategy game. The game's inclusive design and global appeal ensure it remains relevant and popular across a wide demographic of players. 🌍🎮 Rich Gameplay and War Modes Evony provides a variety of war modes, including siege warfare, resource warfare, and player-vs-player combat. This rich assortment of gameplay options offers a comprehensive real-time strategy experience. The game also features large-scale holiday events, collaborations with popular IPs like Napoleon and Godzilla, and regular updates that keep the content fresh and engaging. ⚔️🎯 High-Quality User Experience and Continuous Innovation Evony’s success is also driven by its high-quality user experience and continuous innovation. The game has been market-tested for over seven years, with regular updates based on player feedback. The integration of AI into game mechanics further enhances user engagement and personalization. This commitment to quality and innovation ensures that Evony remains a top choice for strategy game enthusiasts. 💡🔄 About uCool uCool, Inc. is a US-based independent video game developer founded in 2012.
