Operational Support: ● Assist in the development and implementation of operational policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency and compliance across all coffee shop locations. ● Coordinate with regional managers to address operational challenges, resolve issues, and implement solutions in a timely manner. ● Conduct regular audits and inspections of restaurant facilities, equipment, and processes to identify areas for improvement. 2. Inventory Management: ●Oversee inventory management processes, including ordering, receiving, storage, and tracking of food, supplies, and equipment. ●Monitor inventory levels, analyze usage patterns, and forecast demand to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste. ●Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effectiveness and availability of inventory items. 3. Quality Assurance and Food Safety: ●Implement and maintain quality assurance programs and food safety protocols to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards. ●Conduct regular inspections of food preparation areas, storage facilities, and sanitation practices to uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards. ●Provide training and guidance to team members, on food safety practices, proper handling procedures, and regulatory requirements. 4. Training and Development: ● Assist in the development of training programs and continued education materials for managers and team staff, focusing on operational procedures, guest service standards, and product knowledge. ●Conduct onboarding training for new hires and ongoing training sessions for existing staff to enhance skills, knowledge, and performance. ●Monitor employee performance and provide feedback, coaching, and support to promote continuous improvement and career development. 5. Reporting and Analysis ●Generate regular reports and performance metrics to track key operational indicators, such as sales, labor costs, food costs, inventory variances and guest satisfaction scores. ●Analyze data insights to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations to optimize operations and drive business growth. ●Collaborate with management to develop action plans and strategies based on performance analysis and operational trends.

Today, I had the chance to work in the warehouse at Baldor Specialty Foods, and it gave me a whole new appreciation for the behind-the-scenes effort that goes into getting high-quality ingredients to customers. As a former chef, I understand the importance of fresh, accurate, and timely deliveries — they’re the backbone of a successful kitchen. Standing in the warehouse, seeing how orders are picked, packed, and prepped for dispatch, I couldn’t help but reflect on how closely this process ties to my past experiences. Here’s how my time as a chef gave me a unique perspective: 🍎 Attention to detail: Just like in the kitchen, every step in the warehouse process needs precision to ensure the right product ends up in the right place. 💪 Teamwork under pressure: Whether it’s a dinner rush or a busy shipping schedule, collaboration and clear communication are key. 📦 Appreciating the supply chain: As a chef, I relied on deliveries to run smoothly, but now I see firsthand the hard work that makes it happen. It’s incredible to witness the journey of food from the warehouse to the plate and to now be part of the process from a completely new angle.
