We tried to stand out in the crowd at DHL Stafetten this year 🙋 Due to past difficulties spotting our colleagues in a sea of navy or black, we switched things up a little bit last Friday. So, for the first time, we sported pink! We always look forward to this day in August where we can get together, have fun, compete, and of course finish the day off with sushi. Everyone is welcome - from partner to intern, runner to supporter. See you again next year! 📸Oliver Pearson

Kind of cool. I share it because it’s an example of what we’ve been labeling as “Newstalgia” in marketing/communications industries. It’s why we get so many remakes, so many retakes, so many recalls to earlier products—from movies, clothes, and even toys. Yet the key has been to find the balance between paying respect to the original without simply copy and pasting. You’ll notice new branding like, say, that of Pepsi. It looks like the older 80s/90s icon, but with a touch of nuanced differences that make it feel just slightly different. Or, in other words, modern enough. I open the floor: where else are you seeing Newstalgia?
I am SO excited McDonald's

Managing Partner @ Verde Equity Partners a San Diego-based PE Firm (Giving away what I've learned in three books, and Linkedin Learning courses)
Think that working at a grocery store is a dead-end job for high school students or people lacking better options? Think again. Chains like Whole Foods (https://loom.ly/dlb_QFE) have been investing heavily in apprenticeship programs. (https://loom.ly/FqSWdiM) In 2023, CEO Jason Buechel (https://loom.ly/xR8LJIQ) noted that they’d seen over 10,000 employees promoted thanks to those paid apprenticeships. (https://loom.ly/-3i-Zeo) So far, they have apprenticeship programs in butchery, cheesemongering, and bakery decoration. But they’re not ready to call it a day. They’ve got big plans in store for pizza-making, produce specialist, and fishmongering tracks. Considering how common apprenticing has been for thousands of years, it’s no wonder that Whole Foods is taking advantage. These programs aren’t just fancy titles, either. They are intensive programs that can take years to complete. The prize? Certification. Even employees who don’t want to stay at Whole Foods can take those certifications and apply elsewhere, improving their overall opportunities. It just goes to show that employers can and should pay their employees to upskill; it benefits everyone. #apprenticeship #wholefoods #apprenticeshipprogram

23 Years ago, I started my first job at Southport Macca's on the Gold Coast 🍔 . I still think it was the most important and enjoyable jobs I ever had. I was so proud to don my clip-on tie and brimmed cap. 😍 Here are three things McDonald's taught me that I still apply to my career today: Customer Service is king: Working at McDonald's taught me the value of providing exceptional customer service. Teamwork and Collaboration: McDonald's is all about teamwork, and I learned firsthand the importance of working together towards a common goal. Time Management and Prioritisation: Juggling tasks in a fast-paced environment taught me how to manage my time effectively and prioritise tasks based on urgency.

Certified Professional Coach | Transforming Employee Experiences | Thought People Leader | Strategic Change & Culture Champion
What was your very first paid job? And what did you learn then that you can still apply today? 🪞 Reflecting on my journey that kicked off at Burger King when I was 16! 🍔 From working the drive-thru to corporate triumphs, it's been an incredible ride. 🚀 Here are some priceless lessons I've carried from the milkshake machine to the executive meetings: 1️⃣ Teamwork: Just like working with the kitchen staff, collaboration is key to success. 🤝🏽 2️⃣ Adaptability: Handling a fast-paced drive-thru prepared me for corporate curveballs. 🔄 3️⃣ Customer Focus: Making hot fries or enhancing service/process models, customer satisfaction is paramount. 👑 4️⃣ Work Ethic: Late night & double shifts taught me the power of hard work and dedication. ⏰ 5️⃣ Leadership: Whether leading the frontline crew or a corporate team, leadership skills are timeless. 🌟 Here's to the journey from the flame grill to the office! 🎂🥳 (and yes, I keep everything 😜😊) #corporateculture #workethic #careerjourney

Supply Chain Efficiency | Sustainable Packaging | Problem Solver - Creating Customized Programs for Every Business
Teamwork makes the dream work! ☑️ Also, there is nothing quite like bringing one of your work besties on a tour around a local manufacturing plant - Art Rouse!! Here’s why: 1) Having a few different perspectives on a tour helps identify from a few sets of eyes where we can help solve challenges with our customer 👀👀 2) It shows the customer we are investing our time and effort on fully understanding their challenges 💪🏼 3) We make this a learning experience for both of us to grow in our profession 🤯 Important to note: Always make the customer aware of who you are bringing and why so they are not overwhelmed! It shows you are cautious of protecting their time and are showing full transparency. Happy Thursday from another day at the office working for Crown Packaging Corp. 👷🏼♀️👷🏻

Regional Manager | I build successful teams, produce immediate results, and create opportunities for everyone around me to succeed.
Hard Truth As we kick off this week, I want you know this, you no longer need to overplay your role. You don’t need to perform to prove your worth. It is not your responsibility to prove or try to secure yourself into someone else’s world. Who has the best idea Who was most creative Who was the most dedicated…. Stop ✋🏽 One of my favorite employers acknowledged associates based on facts. Each quarter, nationwide, the numbers rolled out. Favorable Occupancy, GPR, NOI, NRI and the best of the best made their debut. If you were standing on business that award was sent via fedex to you each time. I have three 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾 Don’t get caught up in the hype of the performance. Strive for excellence that benefits the assets you oversee. Stay focused on the original assignment. And that’s being true to your authentic self. Carry On.

I recently participated in the PepsiCo's virtual job simulation on the Forage platform, and it was incredibly useful to understand what it might be like to participate on a Sales Team at Pepsico or any other related industry. I worked on a project to secure an incremental product display in a retail store. I participated using a Sales pitch and built my communication and coaching skills in a real-world context. In the Simulation I :- 1.) Completed a simulation focused on sales for PepsiCo. 2.) Developed a selling pitch to secure a display in a retail store. 3.) Coached a team member on resourcing and planning a retail display set up. This was my first virtual job simulation and was really helpful to me undoubtedly!
