The Golden Rule that runs through my career is how you treat a person both defines your career & also defines you as a person. Now this is different than treat people as you would expect to be treated. Why? You can control how you treat people but if you expect the same in return you will invariably be disappointed. For me role/title & person have equal importance & if I am pushed I would say person is more important. Now there are some who believe that a role or title entitles you to speak to a person in a certain way, you are allowed to speak down or at a person. I don't subscribe to this belief. Some may see you as a reserved person who rarely speaks while others might see you as someone who never stops talking . some may view you as kind and caring while others interpret you as cold and distant .Some may see yours timid, The truth is .... the "you " that people perceive Is an illusion that is constructed based on conditioning environmental influences, fear ,greed and other ego traits.
