Will AI kill education?  That’s the topic of the The New York Times debate curated by Kite Insights on Tuesday 28 November at the occasion of the Women's Forum for the Economy & Society (A Publicis Groupe company) Global Meeting. Together with my co-host, Stephen Dunbar-Johnson I look forward to hearing how the debate plays out and as always, gaining new perspectives on the issue. Through social media, #AI has dramatically affected the way young people engage with information and ideas. From shrunken attention spans, general impoverishment of language, online siloing and increasingly polarized opinions, the minds of young people have never been so isolated and under threat.  But there are benefits to AI, should we consider it as an educational tool? Something we can adopt and use wisely, rather than resist?  The debate motions are crafted to move participants and audience members towards solutions, and speakers and moderators have been chosen due to their ability to bring new and thought-provoking points of view. Tomorrow, Mickey McManus will be opening the debate and Dr. Katrin Gülden Le Maire, Sarah Sabina Montaldo and Ons Jelassi will be arguing for the motion. Karine Allouche Salanon (she,her) Stephanie Creff and Leila Toplic will argue against the motion. Shelley McKinley Catherine Porter and Rahaf Harfoush will evaluate the merits of each side.
