Commenting later in the day on Pozdnyakov’s statements, renowned figure skating coach Tatiana Tarasova slammed his words about Russian athletes as ‘insulting and unjust.’ "I view such statements as insulting, disgraceful and unjust, when Russian senior sports officials are labeled in such a manner as our athletes, who decided to go to the Olympic Games and compete for their country," Tarasova said. Earlier in the day, Russia’s top tennis player Daniil Medvedev announced that he would be glad to play at the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris if given the chance. "I will be glad to play at the [2024] Olympics if I get such a chance. I’ll do my best, battle, try to win and it will be very important to me," the Russian tennis player said. Other Russian tennis players have also expressed their desire to compete at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, including Andrey Rublev (World No. 6) and Yekaterina Alexandrova (No. 15 on WTA). "It would definitely be great to play at the Olympics because you only get that kind of opportunity once every four years," Alexandrova told Sport-Express earlier this week on Monday. Rublev told the same Russian daily last week: "If God wills and everything stays the way it is, meaning that we are allowed to play, if I'm physically fit and good to go, it's very likely that I'll go [to Paris]." The 2024 Summer Olympic Games will be hosted by the French capital of Paris between July 26 and August 11. (Part Two, The End) #business #finance #financialservices

The court and in the stands… build the story… The key issue is to find a starting point, to be confused between being distinctive to segment target and in the same way to align with the rest of the industry. The Origin of Beach Tennis Beach tennis is a relatively new sport that combines elements of tennis, beach volleyball, and badminton. It is played on a sandy surface, typically on beaches or beachfront areas, with players using wood or composite materials rackets and a depressurized tennis ball. The origins of beach tennis can be traced back to Italy in the early 2000s. The sport was created by Italian entrepreneur Giandomenico Bellettini and his wife, Marta Menegatti, who were inspired by the idea of blending the popular beach sports of tennis and volleyball. They developed the rules and equipment for beach tennis, aiming to create a fun and accessible activity that could be enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels. Beach tennis quickly gained popularity in Italy and spread to other countries in Europe and beyond mainly in Brasil. The sport's simple rules and casual, social nature made it appealing to a wide range of players, from recreational beachgoers to competitive athletes. Tournaments and championships began to emerge, attracting top players and growing the sport's following around the world. One of the key features of beach tennis is its adaptability to different environments and playing surfaces. While it is most commonly played on sandy beaches, the sport can also be enjoyed on grass or synthetic surfaces, making it a versatile and inclusive activity for beach and outdoor sports enthusiasts. Today, beach tennis continues to thrive as a popular beach sport, with a growing international community of players and fans. Its origins may be relatively recent, but beach tennis has quickly established itself as a unique and exciting game that captures the essence of fun, sun, and sportsmanship on the beach.

Higher, Stronger…Slower? Why the Paris Olympic Pool Has a Problem The Paris Games has produced a surprising lack of world records so far. Some think it may be because the pool is unusually shallow The pool constructed on the customary site of a rugby pitch measures 2.2 meters deep. At recent Olympics, the pool has always been around 3 meters deep—a difference of nearly 3 feet. To understand why that matters, it’s important to remember that swimming isn’t just a dynamic exercise. It’s also an exercise in fluid dynamics. Every movement swimmers make with their hands and feet creates small waves that rebound off the bottom of the pool. No movement has more potential for waves than swimmers’ initial dive into the water. The shallower the pool, the more those waves ricochet back to the swimmers on the surface, creating a more turbulent aquatic environment that isn’t conducive to top speeds. In the future, pools as shallow as the one at these Games won’t be allowed. World Aquatics enacted a minimum depth of 2.5 meters for swimming and water polo in January 2023. When Paris had its bid accepted for the Olympics in 2017 and the swimming facility was approved, regulations allowed for a pool of 2.2 meters.

I’m always on the lookout for new sports to try and recently tried pickleball which I enjoyed as an alternative to tennis (slightly less taxing on the joints!) However my latest discovery is padel tennis which is next on my list to try. For those of you that haven’t come across it before, here are some of the key things you need to know: 🎾 What is it? It’s a racket sport which is a cross between tennis and squash. It’s played as doubles on an enclosed court where players hit the ball over the next - either directly or against the court walls (usually made of glass or mesh). 🎾 What are the benefits? Padel provides a full body workout which boosts both your stamina and heart health. Similar to tennis, it improves cardiovascular fitness and strengthens muscles through dynamic movements, aiding anaerobic fitness. In fact, a padel match can burn up to 400 calories. 🎾 Who invented padel? A Mexican businessman - Enrique Corcuera - set up the first-ever padel court at his holiday home in Acapulco. It is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing sports in the world so it’s no wonder there are courts popping up all across the UK. Anyone fancy a game? 🎾 #5pillarsofvitality #Move #PadelTennis #Padel #NewSport #Activity #Hobby

Have you ever pondered the origins of the unique scoring system in #tennis and #padel? 🤔 Tracing back to the medieval era, when tennis, or its precursor #JeuDePaume, was a favored pastime among French nobility, we uncover a fascinating tale. Imagine a sun-drenched afternoon in 15th-century France, where King Henry V and the French Dauphin engaged in a spirited tennis match. Their scores were marked as 15, 30, and 45, a system that, while intriguing, has its roots firmly planted in medieval times. One widely accepted theory posits that players used clock faces to keep score, advancing the minute hand in 15-minute increments, leading to the familiar 15, 30, and 45 markers. However, the transition from 45 to 40 remains a historical enigma, potentially stemming from the need for a deuce and advantage system that didn't align with the clock face model. As you step onto the court, remember that each point you win is a testament to a rich legacy that stretches back centuries. From the grand pageantry of medieval France to the modern-day courts, the scoring system of tennis and padel carries the echoes of history. So, the next time you hear "15-Love" or "40-All," appreciate the fascinating journey behind those numbers. It's not just a game 🎾 it's a connection to the past, where every point tells a story.
