Unfolded another masterclass session from last week through a narrative of change with Ahmed Abdessalem at the helm. IPMA is proud to announce the establishment of IPMA-Australia, represented by Academy for Project Leadership and Management in Australia and New Zealand. At the signing ceremony of the membership agreement, Leh Simonelli, Director of IPMA-Australia, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "We are thrilled for Australia to be back to the IPMA Family. Our commitment is to serve as the voice for project managers within the project management community in the region. I am happy to share that I participated in the 19th Brazilian Congress of Management, Projects and Leadership CBGPL 2024 at the end of April led by the PMI Rio de Janeiro Chapter and with the participation of several other chapters. Including the participation of the CEO of the Project Management Institute, Pierre Le Manh, among many other speakers. There were two days of lots of exchange and debate on the most diverse topics, which can be seen through their program: https://lnkd.in/ddMCJja8. What was much discussed was the role of the project manager in the era of the use of artificial intelligence and generative tools, how they can help us in our work, make us much more productive and the PMs who master them will be ahead of their time.

This white paper explores the increasing relevance of Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) in today's organizations. EPMO operates at a strategic level and provides enterprise-wide support on governance, best practices, mentoring, tools, and standardized processes. It complements traditional PMOs, which focus on tactical and operational tasks, by ensuring alignment between business objectives and project execution. EPMO helps organizations achieve their strategic goals and better support project teams. Key success factors for EPMO include: Strategic positioning: EPMO should report directly to one of the CXOs (e.g. CIO), have clear authority, and not be perceived as encroaching on other PMOs' territory. Strong leadership support: The executive team must fully endorse EPMO and be willing to provide constant support. Effective communication and coordination: A clear escalation path, defined roles and responsibilities for EPMO staff are essential for effective communication and collaboration between PMOs and project teams. Standardization: EPMO is responsible for standardizing processes, methodologies, and tools across the organization to promote better synergy and continuous improvement. Overall, the paper highlights the benefits of EPMO in today's challenging environment.
