Now, you would be thinking that we might get zero electricity bills after solar panels installation but there is a large amount of installation cost for installing panels. But, to solve this problem, the government recently launched the Har Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana which is a positive step! And to apply for PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is easy and can be done by following below steps: - Visit the official website of PM Suryaghar: pmsuryaghar.gov.in - Go and Click on ‘Apply for Rooftop Solar’ - Register yourself by providing your basic details like address, Electric Distribution Company and Consumer Number. - Then select the option to apply for the Rooftop Solar as per the form. - Now, wait for the approval from DISCOM. - Those who will receive the approval from DISCOM can install the panels by any of the registered vendors in your DISCOM. - Then, apply for the net meter. - After the installation and inspection by DISCOM, you will generate a commissioning certificate from the portal. - After receiving the certificate, you have to submit the bank account credentials and a blank cheque through the online portal to receive a subsidy amount within 30 days. PM Narendra Modi stated that - “In order to further sustainable development and people’s wellbeing, we are launching the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. As of Dec’2023 a total of INR 3146.13 crores was released as a CFA to distinct beneficiaries under PM’s “Solar Panel Yojana”. The CFA released to the northern region states stood at INR 141.7 crores, while that in the western region hovered around INR 2419 crores, in which 97% was released to Gujarat alone. Southern region states were released a cumulative CFA of INR 244.59 Crores. Beneficiaries in the eastern & northeastern region on a whole received CFA of INR 15.26 crores.
