With the addition of Site Services, Atlantic will continue to expand their growing waste offerings and geographic density throughout North Carolina and Virginia. Site Services engaged Lakeside Acquisitions to lead and execute the complete transaction process, with Lakeside serving as the exclusive M&A advisor throughout the duration of the deal, which closed on December 6th, 2024. Lakeside’s niche focus and expertise in the waste and recycling industry helped provide invaluable insights and facilitate negotiations on behalf of Site Services to ensure a successful outcome. Palm Peak Capital, LLC acquired California-based Pacific Shoring Products, LLC. This acquisition marks Palm Peak’s first investment and reflects its focus on high-potential industrial sectors. Palm Peak Capital identified significant growth in the North American trench shoring market, driven by infrastructure development, maintenance projects, and safety regulations. The firm plans to enhance Pacific Shoring’s operations by expanding its product range, improving procurement, investing in technology, and strengthening its sales force. Our Corporate & Finance team, led by partner Mark Wilcock, has advised Derbyshire Specialist Aggregates on its acquisition of Norwich-based distributor Resins R Us in a multi-million-pound investment deal. The acquisition adds to Derbyshire Specialist Aggregates’ existing network of eight sites across the UK, including its head office and main production facility in Derbyshire. 🚧 Huge Merger in Construction 🚧 Two European construction giants, Germany's HOCHTIEF and Madrid's Grupo ACS, are merging their North American operations to form a U.S.-based infrastructure powerhouse. This new entity, Flatiron Dragados, combines Flatiron Construction from Colorado and Spain's Dragados USA, Inc., making it the second-largest heavy contractor in the U.S., right behind Kiewit. Peter Davoren, CEO of Turner Construction, will chair the new company while retaining his role at Turner. Javier Sevilla Roca, Flatiron's CEO, will lead Flatiron Dragados, boasting a $17.2 billion backlog and $6.1 billion in revenue for 2023. 💡Transaction: Tången acquires Barel AS and Transmark Subsea AS Kvale had the privilege of being one of the legal teams assisting the Swedish investment company Tången on its acquisitions of the Norwegian companies Barel and Transmark Subsea. Barel develops and sells lightning products for extreme environments. Transmark develops and sells tailor made equipment for subsea sites. Our team consisted of Susanne Tenden Borch, Marte Ous Sandnes, Espen Heimdal and Øystein Løken. German-based HOCHTIEF and Madrid-based Grupo ACS are merging their US operations, Flatiron and Dragados, to form what would be the second-largest domestic heavy contractor in the US, behind Kiewit. Peter Davoren, CEO of Turner Construction, will serve as chairman of the new firm, Flatiron Dragados, with Flatiron’s Javier Sevilla Roca as CEO. The move strengthens the link between European construction expertise and booming US infrastructure projects. ACS will hold 61.8% of the new company, with Hochtief controlling the remaining 38.2%. The combined entity will operate in twenty-four US states and eight Canadian provinces, with a backlog of $17.2 billion and 2023 revenue of $6.1 billion. This merger promises significant growth and innovation across North America's infrastructure landscape.
