Safety Moment Monday: With the start of a new year, we challenged all our team members to reflect and affirm their personal commitment to safety. Here are some of the replies we received: “My commitment to safety is to provide resources, information, and experienced supervision to ensure all proper procedures are being followed and workers are going home at the end of the day.” “My commitment is to always ask questions if I don’t understand a task I have been given.” “As an experienced industry worker, my commitment to safety is to lead by example and mentor apprentices to foster a good safety culture. To provide wisdom and interference when something is unsafe.” What is your commitment to safety? #masteccanada #safetymoment #safety #commitment

I’m really looking forward to teaching this new course next month in Brisbane, having taught a full class in the USA earlier this year. As a first world country, we send a great amount of contents to landfill that is not only unnecessary as part of an insurance claim. Yet it is revenue and profit a restoration company could be adding, for an insurer its money and profit it’s paying out in terms of either a cash settlement or replacement, is a contradiction to its sustainable and shareholder goals and for the insured it could be sentiment or irreplaceable items that could be saved. If you knew the what? how? why? And when to restore contents you might be alarmed as to what’s restorable. And from a competitive advantage, being able to offer and being qualified as a IICRC CPT will ultimately set you apart from your competition

Social Media Manager for Skincare Brands • I Help you Become an Influence in a Crowded Market with Tailored Strategies to 3x Brand Awareness
Being a corporate girlie sucked... → I was placed on a constant payroll → Had to work 8am-5pm everyday → Got s**xually a**ulted twice by an employee ....and I was only 18! I had education early so everything moved really fast and before age 16 I was already applying for schools Mom: "All that matters in life is graduating with flying colours, a distinction and have you work with the NLNG" Studying Electrical Electronics Engineering Technology wasn't a piece of cake... ... having lecturers fail you for fun was way worse My days at the Polytechnic were tr*umatic, I'd never forget. It's Project Defence season and I was an inch closer to making "momma proud" Picked an amazing topic to defend and I aced a full 6-unit → another "A" in the bag. Graduation After parties ...then I got issued my certificate and I was awarded A 3.41? Have I yet disappointed my mother again? Sigh... There's no hope applying to the NLNG What good is an Upper Class good for anyway? My last and only resort to getting paid over $1.2k monthly was a flop But wait... I don't need my certificate to land 6-fig clients on LinkedIn Do I?😂😂 Who's laughing now? ______________ PS: NLNG is an acronym for Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas. PSS: My school's grading system was a 4.0. What's the moral here? Share in the comments.💌 #20daylinkedinchallengewithhaoma #engineering

Interesting news from ECITB! 40,000 extra workers needed! This gives a healthy forecast for a boom of projects within the engineering and construction industry but will hopefully also attract more people into the industry workforce too. From apprenticeships to career changes, there's plenty of opportunities for people to explore new avenues. “Attracting new entrants is a key priority for industry and the ECITB" More can be done at grassroots level to attract young people and give options for those looking into where they want to start a career. It's good to see a focus on grants and initiatives to find new entrants into the industry. #engineeringrecruitment #ECITB #careersinconstruction

As a Field Training Officer (FTO), I can honestly say it makes not only the rookie better, but it makes me better simultaneously. It requires a level of competence to not only supervise your trainee, but to supervise yourself also. You almost have to be one step ahead in order to know what is expected of you in a given situation, and THEN provide that lesson to the trainee. This is especially important in stressful situations where things are rapidly evolving; you need to make sure you’re controlling the situation all while the youngin’ is learning from what you do. It’s also very good preparatory work for those currently assigned as FTOs whom are looking to promote down the road. If you can demonstrate to your department that you are great at supervising the development of a new officer, and can replicate that work product several times over with new trainees as they come in, then it’s definitely a major stepping stone for promoting to Corporal and Sergeant. Being an FTO is a high honor amongst patrol officers! The department, and ultimately the jurisdiction, have their trust in you to mold a motivated citizen into a competent and trustworthy police officer within a span of a few months. It’s hard work, and it’s stressful, but the reward of seeing someone you directly supervised become a blossomed professional is thoroughly good! Lastly, I think earning the title of FTO is self-gratifying. It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication you’ve put into this career and thus you’ve been given a major responsibility which is to improve the department’s rank and file. And by the way, the rank and file are the ones risking their lives and putting it all out there every day. It’s a stressful job, but it’s a great job, and I love doing what I do.

Professional Chemical (Process) Engineer & Environmental Consultant with over 20 years in wastewater management and infrastructure development | Helping Businesses Manage Water Sustainably | SME Content Writer
That's exactly why it is recommended that you can only apply after atleast 3 years of Engineering experiential training that takes you through 5 levels of responsibility (A-E) and 11 competencies outcomes. It is precisely to build responsibility to make judgements, manage, and observe and apply theory in an uncontrolled environment where there is so many unknowns that could not be taught in a lecture room or learnt in a year or two at work. Having a good mentor/supervisor/manager or coach who understands this journey fully can take you through this developmental process in a way that relieves pressure on you. We still open to provide assistance and guidance to those on the path to ECSA registration, especially those sitting on Candidate status for years and not aware of how far or close they are to be eligible to apply. karabon@watenengineers.com
👷🏼♂️ Mechanical Engineer | I document strategies and tools that help engineers increase their skills, be more impactful at their workplaces, & stand out in their careers
Dear Graduate Engineer, Your qualification allows you to start training to become a competent engineer. - You are not expected to know everything - struggling with the practical application of your knowledge is part of the process Try not to be too hard on yourself and take one day at a time. Agree?
