In any production I’m directing, filming or producing, I make sure the camera feels human… Why? Because storytelling is a performance, and in order to make you feel the stories, the camera has to be an extension of the first camera, which is the human head. Our eyes are the lenses, our ears are the microphones, our mouth is the speaker, our brain is our organic memory card. It has to react as we do. Feel as we do. Behave as we do. We envision, remember and nurture things based on our shared life experience. That is the wonder of unforgettable memories created on film, and why the camera is one of the instruments I use to let you experience what I experience. This is another key element of my “Creative Cinematic Production Philosophy & Style”. #film #movies #storytelling #opera #documentaries #cinema #atlanta #studio #media #filmstudio #cine #peliculas #documentales #arte #life #vida #art #biophilia

They’re the ones who take all the pieces—the footage—and figure out how to fit them together perfectly. Since they see the film over and over, they have the unique ability to understand how every part should connect to create the final masterpiece #VideoEditing #Filmmaking #EditingTips #PostProduction #Cinematic #FilmEditor #CreativeProcess #Filmmaker #FilmProduction

A film is made for people who either like it or dislike it. For the audiences who want to get entertained. To enjoy a story. They are not interested in the academic part of it. Because you make chicken biriyani to relish the taste, not to discuss why the chicken didn’t cross the road. Similarly a film is not for people who can look at the movie from the camera angle, editing style, art direction or screenplay. What’s in the syllabus should not reflect on the screen. That should be learned at institutes, used for the creation and left to execution stage. What you present is of more interest than how you presented for the audience who come to watch the whole and not the bits. They expect a good product without getting into the process. They are interested in the story and not the thought. #film #movie #filmmaking #cinema

Currently I m working on a new short film; Birds & Shells. But what’s the hype of making a short? So I feel shorts fall into a special category, not the commercial one, the personal one; They are not commercials, neither they are “art” per se, they don’t make money, nor have a real market, they don’t get bought, they don’t sell.. at the end they don’t really have rules.. These points make short films incredibly free. Free in many ways; Free to explore themes no commercial production will ever consider, free to experiment with whichever kind of technique, free from any sense or structured logic, free to tell stories no one else will tell, free to be honest and real. Shorts are also the less appreciated and considered; If you go to most generalist festivals you can feel a sort of hierarchy where animated shorts lay at the bottom of it. Yet in today’s cinema panorama they are the more “cinema” you can find around.. - - - - - - - Below clip from The Guardian #artdirector #creativity #creativedirector #education #design

🎬 Does sound really change a story? Can it change the film? 🎧 Imagine a hero’s epic journey without the soaring strings of an orchestra or a quiet forest walk without the ominous rustle of leaves. Sound isn’t just an add-on—it’s the invisible force that shapes emotions, builds tension, and brings every frame to life. The right sound can turn a cozy dinner into a suspenseful showdown or a calm sunset into the start of a storm. 🎬 Movie Review: Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 I went into Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with low expectations, and while it's not a masterpiece, it manages to entertain at certain moments. It has its share of laughs 😂, some genuinely scary scenes 👻, and overall feels like a well-thought-out story executed to the best of the team’s abilities. The first half is filled with fun moments, mixing in the usual cultural stereotypes we often see on the big screen. The production quality and cinematography are impressive 🎥, and most of the cast delivers commendable performances, especially Kartik Aryan, Vidya Balan, Sanjay Mishra, and Vijay Raaz. There are some fun callbacks to pop culture that add to the humor, though a few gags become overly repetitive and lose their impact. In the second half, when the plot takes on a more serious tone, the comedy feels out of place, especially given the engaging and impactful climax. The romantic subplot feels unnecessary, and a few extra songs slow down the pacing of the movie. On a positive note, it’s great to see Madhuri Dixit back on the big screen, gracefully performing the iconic “Ami Je Tomar” 🎶—a highlight worth watching. While it doesn’t elevate the franchise, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 works as an alright standalone film. It’s worth a try for some mindless fun, spooky moments, and beautiful production quality. #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 #MovieReview #Entertainment #KartikAaryan #VidyaBalan #MadhuriDixit #Cinematography #Comedy #Horror #FilmReview

What is ‘Big Concept’ movie? Part 4 But there are exceptions too. Movies which failed in Box Office or never collected any award or win the critiques but became cult with passing time. Due to some peculiarity somewhere in the movie others due to someone related to this movie gets exceptional fame in their profession, sometimes due to relaunch of the movie in smaller format like the television or DVD. Listing below a few movies that failed in Box Office or win any awards but became cult as time passed. • Citizen Kane (1941) - Orson Welles • The Shawshank Redemption (1994) - Frank Darabont - • Dazed and Confused (1993) - Richard Linklater • Fight Club (1999) - David Fincher • The Big Lebowski (1998) - Joel Coen • Brazil (1985) - Terry Gilliam • Blade Runner (1982) - Ridley Scott • Vertigo (1958) - Alfred Hitchcock • Donnie Darko (2001) - Richard Kelly •It is a Wonderful Life (1946) - Frank Capra •Harold and Maude (1971) - Hal Ashby •Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) - Mel Stuart •Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998) - Terry Gilliam •The Wizard of Oz (1939) - King Vidor & Victor Fleming •Office Space (1999) - Mike Judge Most of these movies has some unique merits in editing or storytelling or in cinematography or may be all, which were first of a kind. It took some time for the critics and the audience to appreciate those. In most of the case the movie gained popularity after re-release on television, DVD, or theatre. Normally, we watch a movie in theatre only once or twice. But if it is available on DVD at home, we end up watching multiple times. Doing so, we start noticing those merits missed earlier, raising our level of appreciation on each run. This multiple viewing must be the cause of making these movies cult. I could be wrong in many ways as I am correct. Share your opinion for another perspective. In the next part, we will analyse ‘The Creator’ by Gareth Edward, as why it failed despite having potential for big concept movie. #bigconcept #movie #boxoffice #cinematorgraphy #directors #idea #editing #VFX #thoughfulthoughts #opinions #creative

WATCH 👀 🎬 From the set of #shortfilm "The Fun in Funny", DP Jason Blount discusses how camera and lens choices can impact a comedy production. In this case, #FUJINON #Premista series lenses paired with #FUJIFILM #GFX100 II. "Time is the most valuable resource in a production. Zoom lenses to me, in the comedy world, and being able to move fast on film production is essential. I love prime lenses, but every time you have to swap a lens, it’s taking time away from filming…to be covered from a focal length from 19mm to 250mm in three physical lenses that are all coming in around 8 pounds, weigh the same, around the same length, is phenomenal." Movies take years to bring to theater, but hours to watch. Strikingly similar to success. — Isaac Mashman 🎥 Take my favorite trilogy for example. The Lord of The Rings by Peter Jackson. These films won countless awards and captivated millions. I have seen them, extended editions too, the only way to watch them by the way, so many times. What makes them so special? The emotions they invoke, the cinematography, the music score by Howard Shore, and overall storytelling. It took immense time and effort to create these masterpieces. So yeah, they connect on a deeper level. 📚 Success, like these films, requires patience and dedicated effort. Every frame, every scene took meticulous planning and execution. Just like in business, the final product may seem effortless. But behind the scenes, there's a ton of hard work. Never demean another person's progress (unless they're unethical slobs of course) 😬 #Movies #Success #Patience #LordOfTheRings #Storytelling #Appreciation
