Top five performing EU CLO managers (based on their 2021 deals) exhibit different positioning in the following five industries: 1. Construction & Building 2. Consumer goods: Durable 3. Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals 4. High Tech Industries 5. Hotel, Gaming & Leisure Considering that there are always winners and losers in each industry, the diverse positioning (OW/Neutral/UW) of these managers across the aforementioned five industries helps support this point. The fact that managers with varying industry positions can still achieve favourable performance indicates that investors can benefit from a certain level of diversification in the EU CLO market. Looking back, looking forward The year 2023 is coming to an end, and it has been a very intense year (also for RSM Transactions). We would like to thank all our clients for their trust and for the great projects they have given us the opportunity to support. Also the partners who have been involved with us in the projects. In a nutshell, here are some trends we observed in the M&A Belgian market in 2023 (based upon the deals RSM Transactions was involved in): - Mid-market deals dominate - Technology, healthcare and business services lead the sectors - Many companies have cash available and healthy companies still have easy access to financing (even if interest rates have reached a plateau) - Buyers and sellers expect from experts efficiency, pragmatism, being available and a focus on the essentials. At RSM Transactions, we expect the market to remain very dynamic in 2024. Over the last years, we have observed that, despite sometimes turbulent times, companies are still looking for external growth and acquisition opportunities. Belgium is a country where the mid-market is the foundation of the economy. There will also be great opportunities in 2024. Our flexible, highly-motivated teams are in the starting blocks. We wish you a happy holiday and a wonderful year 2024. May peace prevail in 2024.

For professional investors only: Active Australian smaller companies managers have historically generated very high levels of active returns for investors. The size of the active returns to the median Australian smaller companies manager may suggest that this cohort could be termed the “Wizards of Oz”. In this paper, we take a look behind the curtain to see what is really driving these superior returns. Download the paper https://lnkd.in/gaD9RdJR
