When they ask "how important is workplace flexibility?"...... Gen AI is impacting work in so many ways, “This moment is both exciting and a little scary for everyone. People are on a journey, moving to a place where they may no longer do the easy tasks at work.” Aaron De Smet McKinsey & Company https://lnkd.in/dVJUqx65

I've read two articles over the past several days related to the impacts that AI will have on the quantity of hours many of us can anticipate in front of our laptops in the foreseeable future. It's an interesting thought for sure. Here's one example from Fortune : https://lnkd.in/gKTJgnZY The convergence of innovative technologies and progressive work policies is reshaping how we approach productivity and work-life balance. Kudos to the visionary organizations embracing change and leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency and employee well-being. Change is inevitable. I believe how we as organizations and individuals choose to adapt to that change will continue to be the "soft skill" that sets some unique individuals and corporate cultures apart. #FutureOfWork #AIInnovation #WorkLifeBalance #FourDayWorkweek #TechRevolution

Today, in a freezing cold ❄️Stockholm, I warmed up over lunch with some delicious Indian food and inspiring conversations with fellow entrepreneur and neuroscience guru Linda Jarnhamn. We discussed the importance of embracing both technology and best practices of how to use it effectively 💻, AND employee wellbeing and the key factors that drive engagement and innovation 💡. With all the productivity enhancements new A-based technology introduces, productivity gains are substantially hindered by “poor digital workplace behavior” such as constant chat interruptions and way too many, unnecessary meetings. It’s quite remarkable how organizations spend enormous amounts of money on software, hardware and IT-consultants, but very little on upskilling employees on how to effectively use the tools to work smarter, and how to be an effective leader in today’s hybrid, data driven workplace. 🧐 Any comments on similar or contradicting insights anyone? #digitalworkplace #digitalleadership #employeeengagement

🗞️ In 1916 a reporter in New York quoted an employer: “𝘕𝘰𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘢𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰” 1916 was just after the Technological Revolution, where rapid scientific discovery, standardisation, mass production and industrialisation changed the way that people work Henry Ford reduced hours and increased pay, and people's working lives improved dramatically Not unlike how the pandemic made flexible working mainstream As humans, we often perceive change as a threat and we criticise those who are early adopters of trends because they're different Technological advancements that cut out manual or non-impactful tasks and make things more efficient are the future, yet uptake is often looked down upon initially: 📺 Watching TV rather than reading a book? Lazy 🛍️ Ordering things online rather than going to the shops? Lazy 🏡 Working flexibly rather than sticking to rigid rules? Lazy 🐎 Driving rather than riding your horse? Lazy We are in a workplace revolution, where the way we work is evolving to focus on improving output, happiness, and quality of life Sticking to the status quo is the easy option; so next time you call someone lazy because they want to work flexibly, ask why you think that 🤔 Flexa #FlexibleWorking #FutureOfWork #WorkplaceRevolution
