Today, this repost feels more significant than others, after a very insightful convo recently. I remember being told “I think I’m too big for a role or a company” by a senior, because of my “radical” ways of thinking and actions as a result, and it’s taken me a while (still a WIP) to get past that comment, and show up as I normally would, propose ideas or share feedback as confidently as before, trying to navigate if someone would receive my “intensity” as intended, or with red flags or alarm bells. But as I worked and moved around the industry, and was exposed to different companies, departments & individuals, these sentiments start to hold more true to me each day: • “You can’t teach intensity, but it can spread, and I can be a torchbearer for that.” • “Some will recognise & appreciate it, and others won’t and that’s also OK…” And most importantly… • “It doesn’t mean you dim your fire (maybe adjust the approach), but feed those who are inquisitive enough to get close or an environment that dares to colour outside the lines.” Some really valuable advice from that very insightful convo: • Let go of the past 😮💨 • Unlearn some things & learn to trust those around you ❤️ • “Radical” was flagged as a point of concern 👀 but that is OK, and maybe a little of what is needed here 🫶 And maybe this reaches someone today, who needs this little reminder… Or is the start of something a little radical for someone who maybe just needed a little push 🔥 #beintense #beradical #beyourmostauthenticself
