Following in the footsteps of its Paris, New York, and Tokyo boutiques, Polène opened the doors of its first Korean location on Saturday, June 15th. With its large picture windows, the facade opens to the Gangnam-gu district, revealing the full, welcoming atmosphere created by Korean interior design studio WGNB. Within this refined setting, the eye is drawn to the subtle play between different materials and palettes. Key focal points include carved Ginkgo wood furniture by cabinetmaker Jungjoo Im. A ceramic table uses optical illusion to mimic the textured appearance of leather, applying an artisanal technique carefully developed by artist Dasol Lee. These custom pieces reflect the leather goods brand’s commitment to creating a unique space for each one of its stores, designed specifically around its host city and celebrating local savoir-faire and expertise. Upstairs, customers can step into a “Photobloom” photobooth, accessorized with large leather flowers, to snap photos of themselves in an immersive natural landscape of which characterizes Polène. Open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 22, Garosu-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea.

The one positive that came out of the lockdown was that it opened a new way of working - from home. And this obviously translated into the creation of some of the most aesthetic home-offices. A case in point is the home-office of Nikhil Gandhi, the ex-COO of MX Player, who wanted this apartment to be converted into a space that could give him a more focused area to work and a space to unwind with his friends and colleagues in the later half. Suvidha Gandhi of Papersky Studio, was very clear that the space had to be efficient and clearly adaptive to both, its day and evening use, with a layout that would be suitable for work, meetings, collaborations and even some relaxed down time. Being located on the third floor of a 50-year-old building in a quaint lane of Santacruz west, the location became a guiding force for the space to have an old world charm, a feeling of belonging, and a sense of surprise on walking into this unexpected Colonial home-office. Elements like the different tones of wood, light and neutral-coloured walls contrasting against dark furniture, herringbone wooden floor, fluted glass in ceiling lights and doors imparting a cut-glass feel, etc. add to the drama. Textures like baskets, sisal, cane, natural bamboo, etc. underscore the warmth while brass handles and bespoke wall lights complete the Colonial ambiance complemented beautifully by the artwork. Interestingly, tiles were used sparingly and instead a waterproof finish is used on the walls in the bathroom, including the ceiling and counters. The space is layered with foliage inside and outside. The subtle contrast of Lichen green, with its underlying blue tone, perfectly binds all the heavy tones of wood and the feel-one-with-nature undertone. #designperspective #mumbai #mumbaicity #interiordesign #interiordesigner #interiordesigntrends #interior #interiorstyling #interiordecorating #houseinmumbai #interiorinspiration #aeshteticspaces #housespace

#Designing Harmonious Spaces: A Modern Living Room and Classic men Sitting room. As a designer, I recently had the opportunity to create a harmonious living environment for one of my clients. The challenge was to balance a modern aesthetic for the living room while incorporating a more classic style for the sitting room. Here's how I approached this project: ##Crafting a Modern Living Room The client's living room had to reflect their refined and contemporary taste. To achieve this. I focused on the following design elements: 1. **Minimalist Furniture**: with clean lines and neutral tones. This created a streamlined, uncluttered look. 2. **Accent Pieces**: Strategically placed modern art, sculptural lamps, and a statement-making coffee table added visual interest without overwhelming the space. 3. **Neutral Color **: I used a mix of grays, whites, and beige to create a calming and cosy atmosphere. Pops of color were introduced through textiles and accessories. 4. **Lighting**: Recessed lighting and floor lamps with adjustable brightness provided ample illumination while maintaining a cozy ambiance. 5. **Flexible Layout**: The furniture arrangement allowed for easy conversation and adaptability to various entertaining needs. ##Crafting a Classic sitting Room In contrast, the men sitting room was designed to have a more timeless and inviting feel. Here's how I approached this space: 1. **Textured Fabrics**: , rich draperies, and a patterned area fram added warmth and visual interest to the space. 2. **Antique Accents**: Vintage-inspired table lamps, a crystal chandelier, and a few antique-looking decorative pieces added character and charm. 4. **strong Colors **: I used a cream, red, and gold to create a attractive atmosphere. 5. **Cozy Seating**: A comfortable armchair and ottoman provided a cozy spot for guests to unwind. By carefully curating the design elements in both spaces, I was able to create a harmonious and visually appealing living environment that caters to the client's diverse needs and preferences. If you're considering a similar project, I'd be happy to discuss how I can help you achieve the perfect balance between modern and classic design. Feel free to reach out to me to learn more.

In order to create the stunning marketing visuals for 93 Park Street which show potential buyers how key rooms in the mansion could look dressed and styled, Wetherell commissioned Casa e Progetti to create interior design schemes for the key rooms of the mansion – the entrance hall, garden reception room, first-floor reception room, bedroom and walk-in dressing room. HISTORICAL RESEARCH We researched the history of 93 Park Street and used the history, grand interiors and contemporary design trends in Mayfair as the basis for our inspiration for the interior dressing and styling of the key rooms. 93 Park Street was built in 1913 and fitted out and ready for occupation in 1925, its original residential heyday taking place during the 1930s when it served as the home of Sir Louis Bernhard Baron (1876-1934), a wealthy British tobacco tycoon and his wife Elsie, Lady Baron (1887-1983). THE ART DECO PERIOD During this 1930s period, the key international decorative style popular in London was the style known as Art Deco, which was popular in London between 1908 to 1935. The distinguishing features of the Art Deco style are simple, clean and elegant shapes, creating a stylish streamlined look. Furniture and styling during the Art Deco period tended to use custom-made furniture, often using expensive materials with finishes including lacquered woods, silver, chrome and crystal. The formative influences on Art Deco were Art Nouveau and Cubism and the characteristic motifs of the Art Deco age included beautiful female figures, animals such as panthers, lions and race hounds, sun rays and tropical foliage. DESIGN INSPIRATION As a result of this history, we decided to dress the rooms of 93 Park Street in a classic contemporary style, using artwork and other accessories from or inspired by the 1930s Art Deco period in order to create dressed spaces which reflected the actual history of the house. #historicestate #luxuryliving #limitededitionart #casaeprogetti #luxuryinteriors #artdecoera #bronzeornaments #classiccontemporary #londondesigner #georgesbraque #interiordecor #tamardalempicka #london #parkstreetmansion #furniturecollection

There is always time for your interiors to be in vogue! Here are some trends worth exploring in 2024 to give your interiors a stylish update. Starting off with basic hues, expect to see peach and apricot hues taking centre stage, inspired by Pantone's color of the year, Peach Fuzz. These tones serve as the best of both worlds, seamlessly integrating into the pastel palette while also being able to harmonise beautifully with greens, purples, and blues for a lively contrast. We will also see metals, such as chrome, steel, and aluminum, are emerging as key design elements, adding a touch of surrealism to home spaces. Lastly, mirroring the recent rise of bows and romanticism in the fashion industry, romantic design is making its mark in interior aesthetics as well. Embrace tones of pinks and reds, along with floral patterns, ribbons, and lace, for a truly enchanting ambiance this year. #2024InteriorTrends #BrassArtistry #Madelnindia #Door #Luxury #Collection #Interior #Makelnlndia #doorhandles #doorhandle #brassdoorhandles #interior #design #maranellohandles #Luxuryhomes #doorhandles #handles #luxuryinteriors

Minimalist Maximalism: Blending Simplicity with Opulence The concept of Minimalist Maximalism may seem like an oxymoron at first glance, but it is a burgeoning design trend that masterfully marries the sleek and restrained principles of minimalism with the bold and luxurious essence of maximalism. This approach to interior design invites us to pare down to the essentials but choose those elements with an opulent twist. Imagine a room where the color palette is restrained, yet the few chosen hues are rich and deeply saturated. Spaces are not crowded with objects, but each selected piece, whether it’s a plush velvet sofa or a striking piece of abstract art, makes a bold statement. It's about finding the balance between space and sumptuousness, between quietude and drama. The beauty of Minimalist Maximalism lies in its versatility and the personal touch it allows. One might opt for a sleek marble tabletop adorned with intricate brass candlesticks, or a minimalistic room featuring a grand, ornate mirror that draws the eye and captivates the imagination. This design philosophy also emphasizes quality over quantity. It’s about investing in fewer, but finer things that are designed to last and make an impact. This could mean choosing a bespoke, handcrafted dining table or a designer lamp that is as much a sculpture as it is a source of light. #MinimalistMaximalism #OpulentDesign #SleekLuxury #BoldElegance #DesignTrend2023

What is Contemporary Classic Design? In the constantly fluctuating world of design trends, contemporary classic is one which has continued to captivate. The style imbues classic aesthetics with a modern touch for a look which is epitomised by refined elegance and quality pieces. Within this vast school of design, there are many strains that could be explored but certain staples will allow you to transform any room easily. Colour Contemporary classic is a style which is defined by deliberate and thoughtful use of colour. A warm neutral palette will give your room a timeless sophistication. Delicate creams and rich browns serve as a versatile backdrop that can be complemented with a dusty rose, navy or olive green. Because of the subtlety of these colours, they also go well with marble, brass and copper furnishings. This muted palette also applies to lighting; using wall sconces and warm lighting creates a welcoming and delicate ambience. Furnishings Furnishings is where you can embrace your own creativity in the “new-old approach” of contemporary classic. One way is to use classic-shaped furniture, such as wingback armchairs and vintage brassware, and elevate them with a matt black finish, glass top gilt or layer of muted tone paint. If DIY isn’t up your alley, try to keep a balance of roughly ¾ of modern decor, to ¼ traditional. Remember, quality over quantity - a few unique vintage pieces in a room are all you need for that contemporary classic style. Architecture When it comes to space, contemporary classic is all about appreciation of classic architecture, embracing the heritage of an old building and maintaining its traditional features, or using subtle remodelling to instil a sense of longevity. Panelling ceilings, cornices and pilasters are features that will immediately add a vintage feel, as will luxurious oak wide-plank flooring. Space & Symmetry Symmetry is a fundamental principle of classic design. Balanced arrangements of furniture and decor items create a sense of order and harmony. Matching pairs of lamps, side tables, or artwork on either side of a focal point contribute to the overall symmetry of the space. This can also draw attention to contemporary statement pieces, such as a modern sculpture or abstract painting.
