From corporate to accountability I tend not to frequent LinkedIn very often, nor do I tend to post, if at all. However, when I do happen to check in for a visit/scroll I embark on an interesting journey of immersive fascination. The world, and technology, ticks at a fast and unpredictable pace. In my 1hr. (3600 seconds) I get my curiosity fix of what’s happening, in what was my world. It seems strange that corporate is no longer a part of me as I’m running a small company where accountability has no avenue but the path to my front door. It’s scary my friends. Let me not sugar coat it. Actions with immediate consequences, decisions needed now, not later, results very clearly defined and expected, operating budget with no frills, and on. An affinity to our clients where your heart skips a beat when they call. 5 months since leaving Intel I am still learning, adapting, and developing these new muscles. It takes time, but I will attest that Intel served me well. A great company with the best of talent where, though it was time to follow my passion, I have no regrets at Intel at all. I root for Intel every day as I do still have some blue blood circulating. I was fascinated by a couple of articles recently on strategy that prompted me to go for it and post. The articles I could relate to, but did it venture too deep, I can feel the pain of some. I have been looking at our company and quickly realized early on when I started that strategy sits right at my doorstep. I don’t have layers of vertical and horizontal approvals to navigate. Core decisions made and agreement sealed in real time. Phew!! Our company is growing its capability, expanding our offerings, and investing in Linux based Virtual Servers at our Dallas operations, at a low monthly lease. It’s exciting and time will tell on success of our investment, however strategy and accountability sits clearly with yours truly. Rather exciting yet scary.

Business success is more about ‘who’ than ‘what.’ - Geoff Smart & Randy Street Before I joined Intel Granulate, one company’s hiring process really inspired me because of how smoothly everything went - from timely interviews to instant updates and extra care for the candidate’s experience. The CEO told me their secret was simple: everyone involved in the hiring process reads “#Who: The A Method for Hiring.” That advice changed how I recruit since then, focusing on only hiring A+ candidates. This guiding principle really shift my perspective: “As a leader, your main job is to pick the right people. Good teams can drive your business forward and build a lasting legacy.” This approach helped me build a team of *top* engineers 🥷🏻. After searching for the right person for over six months, Arik Gortsunian joined our team. From our first conversation, I knew he was the one. I told our recruiter, “Remember his name - he’s going to be a star.” Since joining in January, Arik Gortsunian has become the go-to guy for data engineering advice. His colleagues appreciate his professionalism and readiness to tackle any challenge. He shares his deep knowledge of databases and SQL widely, always with a smile. Arik leads by example, showing what it means to be a leader without needing a title. My goal as a manager is to create a workplace where everyone can improve, enjoy their work, and step up to lead. Arik isn’t just part of our team; he’s crucial to our success. Here’s to achieving more milestones together! 🏆 #Leadership #DataEngineering #TeamBuilding #IntelGranulate #CareerSuccess #EngineeringManager

Why it's a no-brainer to join the Sales Development team at Harness in #Boston, #Dallas, or #London: 🔥 Work for Madina Biryukov, an engaged and committed global leader 🔥 Harness is 1 of only 9 B2B SaaS companies in the last 30 years to go from $0-100M+ in ARR in less than 5 years. That tells you something about the product. 🔥 This is Jyoti Bansal's 2nd startup 🦄. He founded AppDynamics and sold it to Cisco for $3.7B. This isn't his first rodeo. In fact, 1 of the other 9 companies to get to $100M in <5 years was AppD. 🔥 Carlos Delatorre is a world-class CRO who took MongoDB from ~$30M to IPO. His playbook works every time. Learning it will change your life! 🔥 Harness is solving a Trillion+ $ problem. In a huge market there are enormous spoils to be had. 🔥 We are committed to feedback, coaching, and career development at all levels. It doesn't get any better than this. Coach for heads of growth | PLG advisor | Former 2x growth leader (Wistia, Postscript) | Podcast at media.deliveringvalue.co
Head of Growth (as an IC hire with no formal team) is one of the toughest tech jobs. You need expert level communication skills (to keep the execs aligned) while still being the main “doer”. Things can go well. But the fear is that the company outgrows your skillset - then hire someone above you when it’s time to scale the team.

We find technical people who solve business problems ◆ Transparent Search ◆ Transparent Teams ◆ We are Vocative
How technical does a tech leader need to be? There's no right answer of course. This is really a story about internal communications. We're currently working with a customer to help them hire a Head of Software Engineering. (It's going fine by the way, this is just an example. Just in case you're reading, Iain!) It's a delicate balance of a role. It needs someone who can take a technical lead with the team. Someone who can mentor them. Someone who can really deepen the technical capability in the business. But it needs a leader. Someone who can get the process humming. Someone who can work with the CEO and make an impact on the business itself. And you can balance those needs. But you can only balance those needs if everyone understands that it's a balance - and everyone knows and accepts their part of the process and the decision. It'll be different in every business. It'll be different in every situation, in fact. And our job in that process, and in every similar process, is to get it clear, to get the process straight, and to hold the line through the hiring journey to make sure we stay on track. Clarity and communication are everything, if you want to get the right person Vocative #hiring #business #communication
