Giving back at Poppulo ✨ Food Bank of the Rockies is an organization we support as often as we can through our company volunteering initiative 🙌 Poppulo colleagues come together to volunteer with one of the largest hunger relief organizations in the Rocky Mountain region, distributing more than 196,000 meals a day. This is a chance for colleagues to step away from their laptops and roll up their sleeves to sort and pack thousands of food items to ensure it gets to those who need it most. It’s been fantastic to see so many colleagues interested in supporting this cause. A massive thank you to some of our regular volunteers—Blaine Grady, Randell Cameron, Rachel Hood, Alexandra Celenza, Beau Biernacki, Ward Saunders, Tyler Spence, Jared Hopson and all the others who have taken part. #Volunteering #GivingBack #Poppulo

2 years clean! Two years ago, I spent a few minutes removing a lot of graffiti from this National Cycle Network sign in Edinburgh city centre to make it legible again. Since then I’ve been noticing how long it has stayed clean. That’s my kind of fun - one year was exciting enough but two years has almost blown my tiny mind. This is the power of microvolunteering – a small act can have a big impact. It’s something Sustrans has been building into their spectrum of volunteering for some time through Quick Ways to Volunteer, and now through the Action Team (https://lnkd.in/ew7VdvP5). Because it’s something more people are looking for in their volunteering. As a recent article on flexible volunteering in Pro Bono Economics reminds us, time pressures are the biggest barrier for charities' engaging volunteers - “In a changing world, where people are constantly being pulled in so many different directions, the sector needs to harness its flexible and adaptable nature in its approach to volunteer recruitment and retention – because that’s what volunteers are seeking. Potential volunteers want to see flexible opportunities and assurances that they can give back to their communities in small ways at first, which don’t overwhelm their already stretched time.” And, yes, I know, I missed a bit of the purple paint. Maybe I’ll find a few minutes more for that. #microvolunteering #lovols #volunteering

It's not about how much time you have, it's how you spend it. One of my team members had a goal to volunteer, but couldn't figure out when to do it even with Volunteer Time Off time allowed. I suggested they pick a day, request the time off now and plan to volunteer at that time. This morning, I volunteered at Hope Helps to pack bags of food for local children so they can have food during spring break. We packed 182 bags. How do you find ways to turn time into quality time? #volunteering #timemanagement #qualitytime

Quick mum update... Mum is about to surpass 3 full days of volunteering!! That is 72 hours dedicated to improving the lives of older people in her community 🥹 #BemorelikeDebby I love getting a message like this from my wonderful mum. She throws on her Volunteero merch to make her weekly calls to the older people she befriends!! 💜 When we started Volunteero, Mum jumped at the opportunity to volunteer for one of our clients... partly to support me but also partly because she had always considered volunteering but never actually managed it. Mum is not alone. I speak to people daily who say they want to volunteer but always the reasons for not doing so are the same: 1. Don't know where to get started 🤔 2. Worried it won't be flexible 🤯 3. The process is poor 🫣 This is exactly why we do what we do. We want to get the world volunteering and we want the impact of volunteering to be higher by empowering volunteers to do more! p.s. if you wonder what she is on about when talking about my dad, he spends his days investigating conspiracy theories on some sketchy TV channels. #volunteering
