Community collaboration plays a pivotal role in addressing housing needs and fostering sustainable solutions. During my recent visit to Omaha, I was struck by the concerted efforts of various stakeholders—private entities, public organizations, and philanthropic bodies—to tackle housing challenges collectively. This collaborative approach creates a focused ecosystem that is solution-oriented, aiming to identify and implement effective strategies to meet the community's housing requirements. The synergy between different sectors not only brings diverse perspectives to the table but also leverages resources and expertise for maximum impact. One of the key takeaways from my experience is the power of collaboration in driving positive change. Trent Dansel and Jenni Shukert's encouragement have been instrumental in advancing my mission for sustainable housing. Their understanding of the profound impact that stable homes have on fostering hope within communities is truly inspiring. As we continue to navigate the complexities of housing needs, let's remember that collaboration is not just a buzzword—it's a fundamental pillar that empowers us to create meaningful and lasting solutions. Together, we can make a difference and build a brighter future for all. 🏡💪 #trusttheprocess #staythecourse #collaboration #weareone

Honesty with self, #stakeholders, and investors/donors is critical to the progress of any development or sustainability project. When we're too ambitious and don't meet our desired outcomes, those "promises" originally made seem too tough to share in their failures. We must focus on #action-based goals, setting milestones for low-hanging #achievements, and recording real-time progress. We exist to support organisations that care about #tracking and making a #measurable difference. It's a joy working with a like-minded team, partners, and clients who are doing phenomenal work tracking their action-based impact goals. Get in touch to discover our action-based goal-setting process for your sustainability and development initiatives.
In the world of community development and sustainability, it’s essential to set goals based on actions you can control, rather than outcomes that may or may not happen. This approach empowers you to feel more in control of your progress, increasing the likelihood of achieving your goals. When you focus on actions, you can directly influence your progress. Example of Action-Oriented Goals: ❌ Outcome-Oriented Goal: “Secure $10,000 in donations for our community project.” ✅ Action-Oriented Goal: “Reach out to 50 potential donors each week and share our impact stories on social media daily.” Another example: ❌ Outcome-Oriented Goal: “Increase community participation by 50% in our sustainability programs.” ✅ Action-Oriented Goal: “Host 4 community workshops per month and engage with 10 community members daily to understand their needs.” Key Takeaway: By focusing on actions, you ensure steady progress and maintain control over your efforts. This method not only boosts your confidence but also leads to more sustainable, long-term success. Remember, consistent actions lead to meaningful outcomes!

Since founding Stack'd in 2015, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with remarkable NFPs (Not-for-Profits) across Alberta. These organizations, led by passionate and purpose-driven leaders, have been transforming their communities—and we’ve been honored to play a role in helping them create meaningful impact for their stakeholders. Over the years, we’ve supported NFPs in tackling some of their most significant opportunities and challenges, including: 1. Shaping new strategic directions and plans. 2. Reducing reliance on donor and grant funding by developing social enterprise strategies. 3. Redesigning organizational structures to maximize impact. 4. Merging like-minded organizations and supporting them with their post-merger integration efforts. 5. Enhancing leadership team health and effectiveness. We’re incredibly proud of the value we’ve helped create, but now, we’re taking it a step further. I’m excited to announce that we are making NFPs a core area of focus for our firm. This means dedicated resources, specialized service offerings, and an even greater commitment to helping these organizations thrive. Stay tuned for more updates as we build out our team and services tailored specifically to the NFP sector!
At Stack'd Consulting, we're passionate about more than just saying we support community builders and organizations — we're committed to being meaningful and deliberate in how we help those shaping our communities every day. Today, we're thrilled to announce an expanded commitment to Calgary's nonprofit social services sector, assisting these incredible organizations in amplifying their impact. Our focus is on partnering with bold leaders to push boundaries, rethink how they drive impact, address community needs differently, and strategically futureproof their organizations. We aim to create resilient futures for those leading the charge for change. We're excited for what's ahead and working with Alberta's community leaders and organizations to drive lasting, positive change across the province. Interested in learning more? Let's connect. #communitybuilders #yyc #stackd
