Unveil Next-Generation High-Performance E-Propulsion Technology YASA’s electric motors leverage the inherent high torque capacities of an axial flux design, delivering 300Nm torque and 110kW power. It’s official! The Renault 5 Turbo 3E will be powered by in-wheel motors. Taking inspiration from the original Renault 5 Turbo 3, the new version will be the first production car from a mainstream OEM to use in-wheel motors. For the in-wheel motor industry this is massive news. A major OEM realising the advantages of in-wheel motors and using them on their latest halo vehicle means that others will surely do the same. This model, transitioning from the Ford EVOS product line to the Mondeo series, features an advanced 2.0T hybrid system designed for optimal performance and efficiency. The Mondeo Sport Edition will be available in two exterior design styles: the standard version and the ST-Line. The design enhancements include a polygonal grille, split headlights, a fastback roof, a steeply inclined rear windshield, dual spoilers, and a through-type tail light, offering a more aggressive and refined look compared to the regular Mondeo. Key technical specifications include: - Engine and Motor: The 2.0T engine is paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined maximum output of 210 kW. - Battery: The vehicle is equipped with a nickel-cobalt-manganese lithium-ion battery supplied by BYD. - Transmission: The hybrid system features an E-CVT electronic continuously variable transmission. - Power-Split Technology: The system employs a planetary gear set to couple the engine and generator, ensuring efficient power distribution. Porsche stops production of some combustion models early By Reuters https://ift.tt/nRStAgG FRANKFURT (Reuters) – Porsche is sticking to its position in its move to electric cars, bringing forward the end of production of some internal combustion models, the company’s production chief told Automobilwoche magazine. Porsche board member Albrecht Reimold said the petrol-powered version of the Macan SUV for non-European markets will not be produced after 2026, earlier than initially expected. “The platform has reached the end of its cycle,” Reimold added. Reimold was quoted as saying that after the production stop, the company will focus on electric versions of the Macan to push Porsche’s sustainability agenda, even though demand for electric cars has declined. “I don’t allow the success of the Macan Electric to be defined by one number,” the CEO was quoted as saying. Reimold added that the internal combustion engine versions of the Boxster and Cayman sports cars, a model range known as the 718, will no longer be produced from sometime next year, and the company is already focusing on the electric versions that will be launched next year. The petrol versions of the 718 and Macan have already been discontinued for European markets. They are widely used in cars and motorcycles due to their balance of performance and simplicity. 3. Flat Engine (Boxer Engine): Cylinders are arranged horizontally, on opposite sides of the crankshaft, creating a flat profile. This design lowers the engine's center of gravity, enhancing stability and handling. Flat engines are often used in Porsche and Subaru vehicles. 4.
