Some might say we had a supersonic August at Dublin Airport with almost 3.5 million passengers passing through our two terminals.    Demand to fly in and out of Dublin Airport remained exceptionally high in the month as we experienced our 20th consecutive month of record passenger numbers.   A total of 3.46 million passengers went through the terminal doors of Dublin Airport, making this August the busiest month ever in Dublin Airport’s 84-year history.   The week of August 12 took the medal for our busiest week ever with 829,000 passengers, while Sunday, August 18 was our busiest day ever, with 124,600 passengers going through our two terminals.   This brings our total number of passengers this year to 22.7 million - 5.5% more than the first eight months of last year, with this trend forecast to continue into September.   Passenger satisfaction scores at Dublin Airport have never been better, after we brought in many new improvements for passengers (drop & go parking, new restaurants, click & collect shopping, faster wifi, additional seating) and more than 94% of passengers got through security in 20 minutes or less. https://lnkd.in/ep8mftCN

𝗗𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 Denver International Airport (DEN) has announced a partial closure of its concourse train service for maintenance from October 1st to 3rd. Travelers are advised to plan accordingly and allow extra time for navigating the airport during this period. The closure will affect train service between the terminal and the concourses, but trains will continue to operate between Concourses A, B, and C. Passengers are encouraged to utilize the A Bridge Security checkpoint and walk to Concourse A before accessing other concourses via the train. This temporary disruption highlights the importance of proactive communication and planning for airport infrastructure maintenance. One bad ranking could be a mistake but consistently landing low on reports evaluating by different standards signals some consistent problems. On top of finishing last in 2023 among the country's major airports in analytics company J.D. Power's annual airport-satisfaction survey, Newark Liberty International Airport at different points also scored near the bottom on rankings looking at airfare prices, cancellations and delays as well as the traffic to get to or from it. Here's why.

Huntsville International Airport (HSV) broke all previous passenger traffic records in 2023 marking its busiest year ever. More than 1.47 million (1,473,629) passengers traveled through HSV with an annual increase of 22.7% in traffic over 2022. The last highest year on record, 2019, saw 1,445,365 passengers traveling through Huntsville International. Airport leadership believes that the Huntsville and North Alabama market – as well as the airport infrastructure – will support the addition of more flights and additional nonstop service in the year to come. https://lnkd.in/eFTSgfwe

The City of Chicago needs to get serious and avoid risking the future of O'Hare Airport which is absolutely critical for business travel in Illinois and globally. It's one of the few dual hub airports in the U.S.. Despite a 2018 agreement for a nearly $10 billion project, the City is already over budget by $1.5 billion and growing. Rather than paring back excesses, they would like to force airlines like United Airlines and American Airlines to absorb the added costs. These airlines employ more than 25,000 workers in the Chicagoland area. What does this mean for passengers? First of all, significantly higher costs for airline tickets. Secondly, it will likely result in reduced routes and planes are directed through Dallas, Denver, Charlotte and other connecting airports. Both of these mean fewer passengers coming through Chicago. Manufacturers need a strong transportation system anchored by a strong and vibrant global airport. Anything less is not acceptable.

Go Tell Aunt Rhodie A Long Walk Over the years, I’ve come to the conclusion that spending time in a very large… major airport means having to take unusually long walks to reach my destination. This seems to be the case in a number of airports I’ve visited. Fortunately, however, several of these tremendous terminals have moving walkways. One can step on at the entrance of such a trail-like mechanism, ride along lengthy indoor corridors until arriving at -- or at least coming close to one’s destination. Large airports also often provide ground transportation service that can seat four to six people driven by very friendly drivers. When you travel and find yourself in a major airport terminal, do you usually walk long distances from place to place or, if available, choose one of the more mechanized means of transport? #CLTairport is gearing up for a busy Fourth of July holiday weekend, with record-breaking passenger numbers expected to surpass 2023 totals. From Tuesday, July 2, through Monday, July 8, the Airport is expecting approximately 191,000 local passengers departing Charlotte, a 15.6% uptick from the same period in 2023. In addition, CLT is forecasting a total passenger traffic of 1.18 million during this period, reflecting a 12% increase compared to last year.
