It is with enormous pride and happy hearts that we share the news that Dr Chris Martin DL, a former Chair of The Port of Milford Haven and a native of Pembrokeshire, has been awarded an OBE in The King’s New Years Honours list for his distinguished service to the Maritime and Ports sector. Chris played a leading role at the Port of Milford Haven for 13 years, seven of which were as Chair. He led the Port through a significant period of change and diversification, and he was a standard bearer and advocate for Milford Haven, for the Region, and for Wales. Chris’ contribution extended well beyond the Port of Milford Haven through his leadership in a range of guises: as Deputy Lieutenant, as Chair of Life Sciences Hub Wales, as Trustee of Marie Curie UK, as Governor at Pembrokeshire College, as Co-Chair of the Bevan Commission, and as Vice Chair of St John Ambulance Cymru; his portfolio was broad and far reaching. This is an extraordinarily proud moment for our Port, for Chris and for his family. Congratulations Chris, and we thank you for your selfless service.
