Exciting news from Terminal 2: The Port of Portland has approved a lease with the University of Oregon to bring the Oregon Acoustic Research Laboratory (OARL) to our Mass Timber and Housing Innovation Campus! This state-of-the-art lab will be the first in the West Coast to test and certify sound-dampening technologies for buildings made from sustainable mass timber—making mass timber homes quieter to live in and easier to build. OARL is just one part of our revitalization of Terminal 2 as an innovation campus, designed to: 🏗️ Address Oregon’s housing shortage by increasing the housing supply 🔬 Drive innovation with cutting-edge research and development 👩🏭 Train the next generation of skilled workers 🚀 Empower small businesses to scale and succeed This progress is powered by incredible partnerships and support from the U.S. Economic Development Administration, the Oregon Mass Timber Coalition, and many others. Together, we’re building a brighter, more sustainable future for our region. 👉 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/giEbsKrh
