📦 CONTAINER STORAGE: 📦 Since the inception of our additional container area at Squab Storage Evesham, these have sold significantly better than we could have hoped. We first sold out 20, ordered 20 more and sold all these within weeks too. Yesterday afternoon a container became available and a mere 24-hours later, a new customer is currently moving their goods into it. We've even had waiting lists for our containers beforehand which brings me to my point: WHY? Why do they do so well? And why would we offer these when they arguably could deter customers from our award-winning, purpose built internal self-storage offering at the same location?! When comparing internal and external storage solutions, there are few differences. These in turn, appeal to different customers. For example, the ability to drive up to the doors of the container work especially well for commercial customers who have heavy equipment or materials to store away. Likewise, they may have items that we cannot permit inside the building but rather than turn away the customer, we can provide an alternative storage solution. External containers can be a more budget-friendly option for those that need a lot of space too. At £180.00 inc. VAT per four weeks, ours are not the cheapest in the area but still continue to sell out due to the high quality security measures in place, as well Squab's famous flexibility when it comes to notice periods. Our commitment to understanding and meeting local market demands has been instrumental in our success. By offering various storage solutions, both internally and externally, we avoid alienating any potential customers and can truly say we offer something for everyone! Have you ever wondered how the positioning of containers on the deck of a ship is determined? The ship is divided into cells, with each cell assigned coordinates determined according to Bay, Row, and Tier 🔷 Bay-row-tier system Numbering system for the arrangement of containers on a vessel. In this numbering system, the bay is specified first, then row, which runs the length of the ship and finally the container tier (vertical layer). 1️⃣ Bay: Each container vessel is divided into compartments referred to as bays. Depending on the size of the ship, it will have from 01 to 88 bays, with Bay 01 located towards the bow (the front) of the ship, and Bay 88 towards the stern (the back) of the ship. Bay numbers increase from the front to the back, starting from 02 and increasing by 4 for 40-foot containers, and from 01 increasing by 2 after every two even bays for 20-foot containers. 2️⃣ Row: is the position where the container is placed across the width of the ship. It starts with 01 in the center and progresses outwards with odd numbers on the right (starboard) and even numbers on the left (port). 3️⃣ Tier: denotes at which level the container is placed – basically how high the container is stacked on board starting from 02, "04," "06," and so forth, with the top of the hold at 82, "84," "86," and so on. Container coordinates follow the same order shown in the illustration below starting with Bay, Row, & Tier.
