We need to put renewed strength and credibility behind the production of green fuels! The imperative to move toward sustainable aviation, the geopolitical challenges that call for energy independence and not least the green industrial jobs of tomorrow all make the clear case to move forward. I am extremely happy that SAS - Scandinavian Airlines together with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, Copenhagen Airports A/S and Aalborg Airport can make such a move today by signing a deal to advance the Fjord PtX project to produce sustainable aviation fuel based on renewable energy (eSAF). This partnership aims to accelerate the important transformation of the aviation industry, positioning Denmark as a key player in the effort toward environmentally responsible aviation. It aspires to create public awareness and regulatory support that can help accelerate the green transition and showcases how it is possible to build a “Sustainability Valley” in Denmark and Scandinavia where renewable energy can be transformed to sustainable fuel, creating new green industrial jobs and adding to energy autonomy. Level 5 establishes a blueprint for achieving a Net Zero carbon balance at airports. Marking a groundbreaking milestone in sustainable transport, the Sogestran Group launched the ZULU 06, France’s first hydrogen-powered river vessel, on the Seine in Paris today. “The successful integration of fuel cells into the riverboat ZULU 06, soon to operate commercially in the heart of Paris, marks a significant technical and regulatory milestone. This transformative partnership entails the installation of Four state-of-the-art 22m eSAILs® aboard the 49999 DWT oil and chemical tanker Santiago I. As an integral facet of Marflet’s relentless decarbonization agenda, this installation promises to usher in a new era of eco-conscious navigation. Anemos, the world’s largest wind-powered cargo ship, has set sail on its first full-scale commercial voyage. The cargo ship is sailing for French freight company TransOceanic Wind Transport. The vessel departed from Southern Brittany, France, headed for New York. The 265-foot-long ship is the first of its kind and is combining sailing technology with efforts to cut down on carbon emissions. Anemos, built by Piriou, took over two years to construct. BATTERY TECHNOLOGY: #Norway signs two partnership agreements to electrify the maritime industry Innovation Norway and Team Norway have signed two agreements aimed at advancing sustainable maritime solutions. The first agreement – a letter of intent (LoI) – was signed by Lita Ocean, SeaTech Solutions International (SSI), Pascal Technologies and Evoy to develop a fully electric high-speed harbor craft specifically designed for #Singapore's maritime landscape. The second agreement – a memorandum of understanding (MoU) – was signed by Yinson GreenTech and Evoy, with the aim of fostering collaboration in marine electrification across Asia.
