Three PPS staff members were recently awarded challenge coins from the City of Portland Bureau of Emergency Management for their contribution to the Teen CERT program. The Teen CERT training program teaches youth readiness and response skills so they can safely respond to an emergency and assist victims without endangering themselves or others. *Aaron Olsen (not pictured) started the first PPS Teen CERT Program in 2016 at IDA B Wells. *Darshanpreet Gill, McDaniel High School CTE Educator started a Teen CERT Program at McDaniel HS. *Jonathan Lewis, MPA PPS Emergency Management Program Manager has helped these programs flourish in high schools.
