Verallia launches new range to cut waste and carbon Dedicated to sustainable innovation, Verallia has launched a premium spirit bottle standard of sustainable off-the-shelf glass packaging – ECOVA. The sustainability-focused range has been named ECOVA to signify both ecology and value being brought together in one bottle range. Verallia's global purpose is to ‘reimagine glass for a sustainable future’ and its core objective is to decarbonise activities. The journey to achieve these objectives sparked the creation of the ECOVA range, where the weight of the bottle has been lightened to reduce carbon emissions for both Verallia and its clients. In addition to reducing carbon emissions, the glass is also zero waste by utilising any waste and putting it back into the system to be re-used. Verallia has also leveraged its position to access wider cullet from external sources supporting the higher composition of 51% recycled content. https://lnkd.in/edEbgiuP

The Top 10 Sustainable Supply Chains reported by Sustainability Magazine. Considering that supply chains account for around 60% of total carbon emissions, it’s great to see a prevalence of FMCG type companies in the list making progress in their supply chains. 1.     L’Oréal 2.     Johnson & Johnson 3.     Danone 4.     Tesla 5.     Walmart 6.     Nestlé 7.     IKEA 8.     Unilever 9.     Interface (flooring) 10.  Patagonia Mentions of Scope 3 emissions, packaging, and responsible sourcing, but there is much much more to “sustainabilising” (my new word) your supply chain. There needs to be genuine steps across all of the ESGE perspectives of Environment, Social, Governance and Economic. There are many different interpretations of what it means to be “sustainable”, and also of what exactly a “supply chain” is. I will publish and share my research white paper “The Sustainable Supply Chain” very soon, which I hope will shed further light on the subject. Watch this space my friends.
