The Environmental Impact of Artificial Snow: Challenges and Solutions from Two New England Resorts Leading the Way As winters in New England warm at an accelerated rate, ski resorts are increasingly turning to artificial snow to extend their tourism seasons and ensure skiable conditions. While this has allowed resorts to stay open despite unpredictable snowfall, the environmental impacts of snowmaking raise important concerns about the long-term sustainability of this practice. Winters in New England are warming faster than most parts of the U.S. In Providence, Rhode Island, for example, winters are now 4°F warmer than they were in 1970, and Burlington, Vermont, has warmed by 7°F. As climate change intensifies, the region’s ski resorts are finding it harder to rely on natural snowfall, driving an increased dependence on artificial snow. Despite the challenges, some New England resorts are leading the way in making their snowmaking systems more sustainable: Berkshire East in Massachusetts and Mt. Abram in Maine.

Which type of adventures are your favorite? Daredevil? Hiking? Underwater? Air? Biking? Travel? Endless adventures to have in life…but so little cash? Yep! Been there. We wanted to do ALL the adventures in life but our full time gigs weren’t going to build the bank account needed. So, we invested in short-term real estate. But we need to make smart spending decisions when staging, stocking, and maintaining in order to maximize profit. So we spend where it counts for the guest. Bedding, mattresses, TVs, kitchen, outdoor amenities…the spaces that get used the most! We don’t spend on welcome baskets, fancy decor, brand new high end furniture. Spend where it counts, friend! Guests will be thrilled, will write great reviews, more guests will book … more profit to spend on adventures! What is one adventure you dream of doing once you have the income? #airbnbsuccess #dreambigachievebig #adventureseeker🌎 #dreammoretraveloften #airbnbcoach #airbnbsuccesstips #airbnbtips #vrbosuccess #vrbotips #passiveincometipsforbeginners #passiveincomelifestyle
